Told them I wanted to press charges against thief that wrecked car since it was stolen from their county and was directed to the city it was found. Tried telling that county and they directed me bk to the other. Neither county seems too hung up about stolen or vandalized vehicles. There's articles on reddit and videos on tiktok regarding it. I'm also assuming that's why reviews have been turned off on their Google.

The number to call is 512-974-4343. On my visit I brought all kinds of paint, fuel additive, cleaning agents, lubricants, and pesticides. To be honest, I thought they were going to charge me something for this collection of environmentally damaging products, but I offloaded everything onto their carts in a matter of minutes and was on my way. It looked like someone maliciously rummaged through my stuff, open tops of liquid containers and didn't bother to close them, which caused them to leak on my clothes. Everything was taken out of its place with a complete disregard of placing them back to their original compartments. As I sorted through the mess, I finally found a crumbled card from TSA noting that my bag happened to be among those selected for physical inspection. I travel for work all the time and have never experienced such a violation. Very inefficient, dated, careless process. There has to be technology out there to detect prohibited items. It's also scary that they have a 95% failure rate.

I made comments to those police officers that would have gotten me Rodney Kinged in many progressive states. And the acoustics in the drunk tank are great! I definitely belted out a CCR song or two. I would also like to apologize for the comments I made to the heavyset female officer manning the changing room areas. Without getting into specifics, you did not deserve that and I'm sorry. Also, my use of the word 'manning' is in no way a dig to your physique. The police officer who is in charge of releases during the morning shift is probably the best cop I've ever talked to. Helpful, funny, and doesn't have a chip on his shoulder like many other officers I've encountered. He's the reason I gave the Travis County Jail 4 stars instead of 3.

Parking - free two hour parking located 5 minutes from the Capitol Tours - self guided tour following a well written and drawn map. GUIDED TOUR - every 30 minutes there's a guided tour! We absolutely LOVED OUR GUIDES TOUR. We had a lovely person named TRISH and she was phenomenal. Learned so much about the history of Texas and what happens in the Capitol! I would highly recommend getting the guided tour when coming here. It's just so fun learning about things you really wouldn't read about!

I loved exploring the legislative chambers. learning about Texas history through the exhibits scattered throughout the building was informative. The guided tours are full of interesting stories and facts, making the whole visit feel quite engaging. The grounds themselves are perfect for a picnic, that adds to the experience. A quintessential Austin experience whether you like US history or architecture, the Texas capitol has a little bit of everything for everyone
