The items that come with Teppy - a case, instructions, the device itself, a travel adapter for outlets, and a mini USB cord for charging.

This device is great for the right type of traveler. Only you would know your own data needs and travel itinerary so make sure you do as much research about the device and the coverage before purchasing or renting. We tested the Teppy while in Florence, Italy and were impressed the most by the device's portability, it's ease of use, and by the download and upload speeds when in a optimal coverage zone. In the most optimal conditions (outside and in an urban city), we were able to see 31 mbps down and 18 mbps!!! Comparatively, our Airbnb's internet was 5 mbps down and .05 mbps up (and the apartment also a glitchy connection that kicked us off every now and then). It should also be noted then that being inside a building with thick stone walls can also affect coverage. We tested our Teppy inside our Airbnb on the second level of a stone building and the speed was significantly slower than putting the device outside on the window ledge or again, using it outside in a clear area of the city. For a pair of digital nomads like us who sometimes need to upload images and work with larger files of content, it is possible to hit the throttle limit. This is mentioned on the fine print of the purchase page: "If you have the 4G upgrade, you get 1GB of high-speed data per day. After you've used 1GB, your connection speed gets slowed to 256kbs until the end of the day. If you do not have the 4G upgrade, you get 500MB of high-speed data per day. After you've used 500MB, your connection speed gets slowed to 256kbs until the end of the day." This is a great device for those that need peace of mind that they can get connected to the internet while traveling. It's ideal for urban and semi-rural areas around the world without the hassle of dealing with roaming charges, SIM cards, or expensive international data service plans for phones. Once you own the device, you can pay only as needed and that's really important for the type of budget minded travel we do. This was my literal lifesaver in traveling across Europe, I don't know what I would've done without it. I heard about it through a friend and thought might as well give it a try, because even though Sprint provides a free international plan - I still had trouble getting signal at home sometimes, so I didn't know how it would be abroad. I'm so thankful I did because there's no way I would've been able to navigate myself through new cities and communicate with other people through the translate app without it. I was even able to let my friends that I was traveling with link on to it, as well. I used the TEP device while traveling through Copenhagen, all over Italy coast to coast, Prague, Budapest, and Switzerland without any problems. My traveling experience really wouldn't have been the same with all the convenience, money, and time this gave me. I was able to make the best use of mapping myself, figuring out the best transportation, and keeping in contact with my family and friends, in order to have the best trip possible. This is probably one of the best electronic devices I own and I'll definitely keep using it in the future and recommend it to anyone who loves to travel.

TEP wireless is the #1 most important tech accessory I travel with. Having reliable portable wifi makes my travel experience smoother and safer because I'm always connected. I recently tried their new 4G model in Taiwan and the coverage was amazing. I could FaceTime friends at home with zero lag or glitchy video. I could watch YouTube videos in HD with no buffer delay. It was often better than the hotel wifi! I was really pleased with the reception and connection speed as it's much faster than their basic model I tried earlier this year. The only places I got spotty coverage were in train tunnels in the countryside which didn't get any cell signal overall, so not the fault of the device. If you're looking for a mifi for your next trip, TEP is an amazing option. Just be sure to carry your charging cable and wall plug or external battery pack to keep your device powered all day long, especially if you're a social media junkie like me.

Terrible, falsely advertise product! They lie and say you will get unlimited data BUT IT'S NOT TRUE!! THERE'S A 500MB CAP PER DAY!! RENTERS BEWARE!! Wish I had read the reviews of Tep before travelling to Germany! (http://www.notquitemainstream.com/tech/2013/01/10/an-awful-experience-tep-wireless and http://www.engadget.com/products/tep-wireless/pocket/wifi/). We paid for unlimited data on our pocket wifi which was $6 extra per day, on top of of the $7 charge daily. We didn't want to take any chances since we wanted to use it all day long. Our transaction via email went smoothly, the charge was over $100 for 6 day rental ($30 for shipping is such a RIP OFF too). Half way on our trip, we get an email that we've exceeded our usage amount!! But wait, I thought we paid for unlimited data?!? WTF? That's not fair, that's not what was agreed or paid upon. So we sort of ignore it and go about using our pocket wifi. This morning we get an email that we have exceeded our usage (over 500MB/day) and they are cutting off our data!! And if we wanted to continue using our pocket wifi, we had to shell out MORE money!!! What a SCAM!!! These people are crooks, advertising unlimited data with cheap rates just to trick you to paying more and cutting you off completely!! LIARS!!! AVOID!! FROM TEP WIRELESS: We've received an alert from our Internet Service Provider (ISP - the people who connect your pocket wifi to the internet), telling us to disable your internet connection. This alert was triggered because your internet usage has been extremely high; since your rental started you've used around 616MB per day. You've been given a buffer of 500MB, and once you use that, the ISP will cut off your data connection. Unreliable. I picked this up for my three week vacation in London. From day one I had issues with the tep WiFi. I tried everything they suggested and still couldn't get reliable service. I even got the extra mobile hotspot... was even a worse product then the unreliable WiFi. Day one I contacted them to ask how to download the mobile hotspot (this sets up how every conversation was with Tep Wireless went) I had the code but I never got the instructions on how to download the app. So basically no app name or link. It took two and a half days for them to email me a link. They said they needed a manger to sign off on them giving me a link to download their app.... seriously... a manger needs to approve sending a link that I already should of had. That was basically every day of speaking with them. Also I only got the mobile app to work a few times mostly it would say unable to join. The spots that did work my girlfriend logged into with out the app as they were free museum/cafe WiFi spots. The WiFi hub.... OMG the WiFi hub I got every excuse you can imagine and some make the company sound bad. I am in London and was told I needed to be somewhere with less buildings... are you kidding me... I was floored. I told them I would try in the park and it still had issues. Other part was it would work on the 3G but then would randomly shift to H and H+ and I wouldn't get any service. They said I should be happy H and H+ are faster then 3G (note to Tep, it isn't faster if the customer can't use it) eventually I got frustrated and asked if there was anywhere I could replace the hub as it doesn't work (oh also it wouldn't charge with the adapter they sent) they said I could go to Heathrow (hours away) or Paddington 40-50 minuets away. I chose Paddington and we scheduled for me to replace it in the morning. I went and surprise no one knew I was coming and... wait for it... needs a verbal confirmation from a Tep Wireless manager. The store couldn't get one to answer the phone and I emailed them as well 30 minutes later I was giving the hub back with I'm sorry we can't exchange it without a verbal confirmation.... Tep response to my email was to blame the store. Saying the phone rang once and hung up so that was why they didn't answer and they never needed to give verbal confirmation before so they didn't know why the store needed it. Like I said at the start this is how everything conversations with Tep Wireless went. Do not buy this it was a headache the whole trip. I could go on...

Very happy with these guys!…read more This company provides a VPN service (Virtual Private Network) to hide your IP and your personal information while on the internet. I'd rather not have my info out floating around to who knows where so I signed up on a trial, and now use them for every internet connected computer in my company. I've had a few small issues with their service, as any VPN will have - it's the nature of the beast, especially here in Los Angeles, CA. one of the most "connected" cities in the world, but all have been dealt with fast and efficient. Their service is A+ bar none! I had a little issue with Outlook Express not being able to send or receive emails from my home computer - my ISP isn't very happy that I'm using a VPN, but it was worked out in a matter of a few emails. My email was responded to right away, with an answer to my question, not just the standard run around, I tried what they said might work and wha-la! I was up and running. And I received another email the next day just making sure that everything was still running A.O.K. and that I was happy and had no other issues. Now that's what customer service is! Thank you SO much! Here in Los Angeles we are very used to dealing with morons that have no idea what they are doing, just give you the run around until you give up, but of course charge you lots of money for their service. Is it really different in the U.K.? If so, I'm packing my bags! Between that and I have a big soft spot for British women with a posh accent... oh, my life could finally be complete! :) But "Hide My Ass", www.hidemyass.com is the best as far as I'm concerned. And their service is bar none - great people to work with! Thanks again! Michael G.

After many years having a nightmare with Virgin Media who might offer the best speeds in the…read morecountry but they have the reliability of an estranged father, I decided to give a chance to BT down to them being one of the major players in the UK Broadband market - I use my broadband a lot which is why I need top speeds which are reliable, sadly some of their best speeds were not available in my area and even more confusing I was told by online sales that their best speed package would cost more but would offer no benefit to me (It wasn't possible to get the higher end of the speeds promised in that deal), for me it makes no sense - then why is it letting me purchase it with nothing stopping me otherwise? As well as broadband BT offer many other services in the UK including - Mobile (The other big players in the telecommunications game including Sky and Virgin also offer this but BT's difference is that they also own the largest operator in the UK, EE, however, they do have their own branded network) - Television (Perhaps not as good as the big players Sky and Virgin) - Sport (Exclusive rights to UEFA matches in the United Kingdom - free with Virgin Media, chargeable to other customers) I ended up getting a deal which seemed quite good at £29.99 per month with a £60 cashback through a prepaid MasterCard for speeds estimated around 32-36 Mb/s which still isn't great but I thought with their two week cancellation period (see how it works, only end up paying your usage) which allows you to get out of contract in that time, I decided to give them a chance. I really don't understand the £9.99 delivery fee, considering an engineer is coming out the next day after the kit is received why can't he bring the equipment instead of charging me more for it to come separately the day before? I can't help but feel this is just a hidden installation charge so they can recoup some of the money back if you do decide to cancel within their two-week period which they allow you to cancel after the services are up and running. For the price, the promised speeds are pretty ridiculous especially how they did allow me to go through and buy a higher speed even though the online support did advise me that this wouldn't work - but they'd be willing to take more money? With BT being the largest telecommunications company in the country, you'd expect them to have great speeds anywhere especially where Virgin Media can deliver speeds over 6x as fast. I didn't have a good start with BT either - the annoying, repetitive emails once or twice a day about my engineer visit really got annoying after a while - I know when they are coming I booked it, I don't need multiple daily reminders via email and SMS - once is fair play, doing it, again and again, is just harassing and takes the piss. The customer support for customers really did decline after I signed up - not only was it difficult with them originally refusing to connect me onto online chat, meaning I had to contact them for a different issue as it only re-directed me to their useless help pages but I had an error changing my engineer appointment, eventually I was told that if it's under 24 hours you have to let the engineer come to your house and cancel it then and then phone them to rebook - surely this is bonkers as they're wasting an employee's time who could be working with another customer AND bothering a person after specifically not requesting a visit from an engineer at the previously agreed time? The engineer did text me on the day of my visit - which also happened to be alongside another half a dozen emails from BT - I mean, come on how many times do they have to tell me someone is coming? I tried to contact him to let him know not to turn up anyway - but he did and he didn't bother to read my text. Shame. BT then continued to phone, text and harass me until I decided on making a new appointment and in the end, I just decided to cancel my services before they had even begun - awful customer services with high pricing services which are nowhere near what competition can offer. 1*

They voided their own contract so I opt out after 2 months (but its 30 days) to then be lied too, begged and even threatened about being hit with bad credit if I leave (which I did) Since then BT have charged me more, passed my bills (which have added up since I have not been with them) to multiple debt collection agenises (when they are in the wrong) Harassing me on multiple occasions and even getting scam texts and calls from people claiming to be BT on a regular basis quoting my old details. They then (without telling me) slipped £25 x 4 reward cards instead of destroying the contract (without mentioning about the reward cards) and kept my bill rolling. I made it clear over 20 times that they voided the contract and I want out... but clearly BT are not the best in their game. 10m customers, they cannot please all I understand that, but when they mug a loyal customer... that is a joke.

You can skip the first half of this web hosting review if you want to know how enthusiastic I am…read moreabout my current web hosting provider Linux Hosts Ltd. Let me start by saying that my review is 100% real, unbiased and objective. It's rather long so I hope you are willing and able to take some time. Maybe five minutes? I can prove that I'm a real customer of Linux Hosts Ltd. if Yelp would give me the possibility to add a screen shot of my web hosting account while being logged in, but I don't see any button that allows me to add a screen shot to this review. I have been a customer of Linux Hosts Inc. for several years. But first I would like to talk about my bad experiences with others. I started with my own domain name in 2003. It was NOT hosted by Linux Hosts Ltd. but by one of the world's largest web hosting providers. As a starter I didn't know much about web design, web hosting, programming and related skills. So I regularly contacted technical support about problems, some of them created by myself, some of them due to a problem caused by the provider. The support team was absolutely unable to assist me professionally and I often received irrelevant and unprofessional replies to my support tickets. Later I heard that the company outsourced its technical support to some low salary country. After I left the web hosting provider one year later, I had several other similar experiences with two other large web hosting companies. All of these companies rank high in Google and have a huge advertising budget. So they are easy to find which isn't good. I also discovered that they practice overselling. This means that they sell more web hosting packages than they actually have. It refers to the method of offering more bandwidth and web space than they have in order to attract as many new clients as possible, while assuming that most of these new customers will not use their maximum allocated web space and bandwidth. I think it was three years ago that I switched to Linux Hosts Ltd. The company belongs to its parent company LiquidNet Ltd headquartered in London UK. They own data centres in the UK, Australia, US and Sweden. The moment I switched to them all my problems were gone. I was in a completely different web hosting world. My new account was activated instantly after payment. Support always replies promptly to my support tickets and, if ever there is an issue, it's mostly resolved within minutes by very well trained, friendly, hardworking and knowledgeable people. The company has developed its own Control Panel which is easier to use than CPanel and it offers more options. There is nothing a customer can't do from within the Control Panel and most actions require nothing more than the click of a button. Up time is almost 100 percent and my sites load lightning fast in all browsers. In the beginning I never made backups of my sites. Twice I lost all my files and twice I was saved by this company because they make daily backups. A short time ago I discovered that, despite the fact that I have a cheap 4.19 per month shared business package, there are only 25 other account holders hosting their websites on the same web server as mine. This really was a pleasant surprise to me because I know that most providers put as many websites as they can on only one web server in order to save cost. Sometimes there are thousand of customers using the same server which decreases speed and increases the risk of being infected by a virus. Last but not least I also learned that my web hosting provider is very secure. At least once a month I receive their newsletter informing me that they added new security measures or upgraded existing implementations. My account, including 4 websites and blogs, was never compromised and probably never will. I can full heartedly recommend Linux Hosts Ltd. to any individual and business in need of a reliable web hosting provider.

It's not the cheapest but you pay for a better quality of service all round. They are the middle-man on your side: they battle on your behalf with BT Openreach to keep you online, and with HM Government's ministers to keep the Internet free and functional. Before AAISP I was with Eclipse, then Plusnet, then Be Unlimited (now Sky.) By way of example, say you want to buy a table. Be/Sky is a bit like Argos. You'll get something with four legs that holds your beer level and 28 inches above the floor and it'll be just fine. It probably won't fall apart but they ban some types of beer and will complain at you if you drink too much. Some ISPs are a bit more techy. It's like going to Ikea. You have some satisfaction in being able to put the table together yourself. It's kind of configurable and once you've bought it they leave you alone. AAISP is like going to B&Q. They sell some flat pack tables that are solid and will last but more importantly they'll sell you tools, screws and timber and help you build your own. You make the furniture you want with the professional support of a company that knows everything about the trade. The Internet connection (on DSL and on the phone) is completely unfiltered. If that wasn't enough AAISP and Adrian Kennard, their Managing Director, are also politically active trying to ensure it will remain unfiltered. They separate your technical accounts from your billing accounts which is incredibly useful if you manage multiple sites, though it's also a overly complex if you are just a single household with a single broadband connection. The telephony services are amazing -- I have multiple custom public and private numbers that route to VOIP accounts connected to a pair of handsets (a smartphone and a much cheaper disposable handset) and software telephones. I have call blocking, outgoing caller ID adjustments, and secure IMAP based voicemail and call logging. Phone logs are, of course, available online as well as in machine readable XML. My bills from AAISP are quite complicated. Going back to the DIY analogy: instead of a receipt saying "1 table" I have a long list that shows every plank, screw and hammer because I pay for a box of bits that together handle my home internet connection and telephony. While there's a downside in that the bills are complicated the upside is I can do things no other ISP lets me do! A monthly bill typically lists the following: * Internet connection at 1 site: * Physical layer: a PSTN copper phone line * Data layer: the FTTC connection * Network layer: the "Home::1" product * Charge for increased speed to 80/20Mbps * Charge for quota increase to 200GB/mo * Broadband router (free, but listed for accounting purposes) * Telephony: * 3x phone number registrations + VOIP accounts * 8x inactive phone number reservations * 3x SIM cards * Voice and SMS traffic on the SIM cards * Voice traffic on the VOIP accounts * Other accounts: * Domain registration and DNS service * IMAP account * Charge for increased IMAP quota In summary: I am incredibly satisfied with AAISP and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone who embraces technology.

I have had to work with this company as my home internet provider for near three years. There are…read moretwo times during which I have been sorely disappointed with them: the connection set-up experience and the cancellation experience. It is very difficult to get someone on the phone, it is nearly impossible to get someone to come to my home and react to the situation they find there. I need a engineer to come out to help connect the internet, and another to come out for the phone. It took several calls and hours of waiting on hold. Finally after nearly three weeks of struggle, both worked. When it came time to move back to the states, it was impossible to find out how to cancel on the web site. Direct communication with this company is deliberately made to be nearly impossible. Finally I found a phone number to call and waited twenty minutes to talk to a person. Then I find that they require 30 days notice, and I have to pay a penalty for giving them 10 days notice. WTF? It costs them extra to shut off the line less than 30 days in advance? Remember, I had cleared more than two years and ten months since my contract began. What a racket! I am very glad I will not be dealing with them ever again. I can say I had fast internet service (~107 mbps) that usually worked. I say usually because early in the morning it would drop out for a few minutes. No point in complaining to them because it is nearly impossible to actually do so. If I could complain to them directly, I would, but since they make that impossible, I am stuck whining to Yelp.
