The room was very tired and generally dirty. The sofa looked like it had hosted dozens of plate-less Indian and Chinese takeaways and a few Roman Orgies: I decided not to sit on it. The bathroom, complete with one towel for a room booked for two people, was tired and not very clean. The toilet seat was loose, the U-bend was filthy, the shower was inadequate and there was no plug in the sink.
There was a Harvester next door, and an Asda supermarket opposite, but neither do breakfast so you're stuck with Travelodge's pre-packed continental breakfast or going to the nearby motorway services.
At under £50 it may be cheap, but certainly not cheerful, we won't be back. read more
