Is this motel even open? I went in, rang the bell several times, but no one came out, I could hear people yelling in the back room through. Maybe it's only for weekly/monthly rentals, not overnight travelers. read more

Cobblestone Inn & Suites - Eads

We were able to check in early…read moreand staff was super friendly (we spent a fair amount of time just chatting when we checked in!). Breakfast was excellent the next morning and overall the property was clean and modern looking. The only criticism was when I asked for a later check-out (by an hour, to 12PM) and the younger woman at the desk that morning tried to charge me $25, when clearly the hotel was not at capacity and an hour wouldn't have made any difference; this is the experience gap between someone newer like she was and the more experienced staff who checked us in the night before (forget her name but she was EXTREMELY professional and has an amazing customer service voice and attitude!). This is why it's 4 stars as opposed to 5. If I am in Eads again the Cobblestone is where I will be staying!

The nachos were very flavorful with various toppings. I believe the beer cheese, green chilies, pico and guac was a good combo with the seasoned steak. The taquitos have this good adobo, crema, carnitas combo that work together in concert. I did enjoy the pickled red onions that were just tart enough to offset the richness of the taquitos. Overall great experience with the wait staff that served us. Late Lunch was a good pace to customers coming in and out.

Place is clean and pretty well upgraded. Rooms are typical of the when it was built. We didn't get to try food here as it was Sunday and not open. For me it was memories from the past. Inside botanical gardens are still thriving. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was a sleep ahead of most places. All in all we had Avery enjoyable stay for the night.

Lobby was well organized and newly decorated with comfy seats and an easy to access "business center". The lobby also serves as the continental breakfast seating area. Speaking of, I was wowed by the continental breakfast-lots to offer and was continually stocked. From eggs to pancakes to sausage and cereals, they had it all ready to go! The rooms were newly updated as well with new mattress and newly installed wardrobe and desk. The couch/sitting area was also a nice addition. Bathroom tub/shower seem to be working on still. Outdated facet and shower head with the tub having lots of scratches. Nothing unclean, just clearly a work in progress.Heating and A/C worked well in the room as both were needed! Check in was quick, once a staff member showed to check in the line of guests. Check out process was a breeze. Staff were extremely nice and welcoming. If I'm in the Lamar area again, I will happily stay here. Thank you!

I really hate to give less than 4 stars for my stay here. But there were a couple things preventing…read moreme from giving a higher rating. One of these was stained towels. I get that it's a smaller family-run establishment, but black smudges on most of the towels are a little unsettling. The big red flag for me, however, was that the door had no working deadbolt, nor was there a chain/bar to prevent the door from being forced open. Maybe I'm just paranoid from having stayed in places where crime is a concern, but I consider a working deadbolt and/or a chain to be "standard equipment" at a hotel room and I have never stayed somewhere that didn't have one of those. Other than that, the room was fine. A/C was cold, water hot, internet fast. Really didn't like how far from the bed the nearest power outlet was, especially with cell phones being standard equipment nowadays. I probably wouldn't stay here again, but for my purposes (a traveler passing through who originally planned to camp, but sites were expensive), it was fine. I've stayed at far worse budget hotels on the High Plains and around the country, but I've also stayed at better.
