The fear of being boxed in by some pre-set agenda or partnerships, that somehow my family's needs and desires wouldn't be catered to or somehow the aim or goal of the journey would be missed because I left the planning to someone else. If you sound like how I was, please let me recommend Samantha as your travel planner. Truly, she made what would've been a complicated trip - effortless to plan. We could focus on dreaming about what we wanted to see and how we wanted to do it and she took care of the detail. It saved us a lot of stress. Furthermore, when things didn't go to plan (as things often have a habit of doing on long vacations) we were able to rest knowing that she was only a phone call or email away. Ron closed his Travel of Orange office over two years ago and works from his home, which makes it…read morenearly impossible to do business with him and when things go wrong with what he sold you, basically, "You are out of luck." Ron did not want to assist my husband and I in getting refunded for British Airways tickets $3,107.60 plus other related costs for a total of $4,243,60. His commission on airfare was $556.00. Ron's commission for booking air is the highest I have encountered in Orange County. On 9/24/2021 at LAX we could not board our British Airways flight because we could not obtain the Romania Passenger Locator/Covid form online. Ron a seasoned travel agent did not know the two Covid requirements for boarding British Airways and sold us a product (British Airways e-tickets) we could not use. We should have had this information from Ron about the required forms. Ron informed us we were entered as "no show" and all eight tickets were null and void. We had to repurchase all eight tickets and pay his commission again so we could fly on 9/25/2021. On 10/23, British Airways agent at the airport in Dubrovnik showed us on the computer our double-booked seats on our return flights. Ron should have not resold us four tickets for our return flights. Ron was deceitful and claimed he knew nothing about the double booking. He should have checked our locator record and it would have shown him we already had four booked seats for our return flights. We should have only purchased four tickets and not another eight tickets. While on trip in September 2021 I asked Ron for his letter with his involvement with British Airways. Informed Ron I called CapitalOne VISA 10/23/2021, and I have 90 days to contest the $3,107.60 for paying twice for airfare. Needed Ron's letter so it was not hearsay on my part. His letter was received 2/22/2022. Called CapitalOne VISA 2/22 and was informed time ran out. Loss $3,107.60. Ron sold us Chubb Travel Protection Insurance, "Cancel for any reason," he informed us you pay more for this protection and can cancel even if you did not want to go on the trip. He told us to file a claim with Chubb on the loss airfare and other related costs. Claim was denied. Ron did not know why claim was denied, he showed no remorse and did not assist us in calling his Chubb rep. Again, he told us to refile claim. Again, claim was denied. Repeatedly asked for a copy of policy and never received it. Ron has numerous excuses as to why he cannot assist you and did not reply to my husband's and my numerous phone calls and texts. He makes umpteen false promises that he does not keep, has no follow-up skills, and enjoys upselling his clients, so he can earn higher commissions. Ron's upselling Journeys private tours in Croatia were not delivered because of an earthquake. Since 10/25/2021 we have been trying to have Ron obtain a partial refund from Journeys. Ron was misleading in his sales practices upselling us private tours, Chubb "Cancel for any reason," travel insurance, and British Airways e-tickets. We loss $1,687.14 Chubb travel insurance and $4,243.60 for airline tickets and related costs doing business with Ron. Ron did not know British Airways office address to file a claim. He is not a full-service travel agent. Ron has ghosted us and had no intentions of assisting us in getting our refunds. Ron has lost his passion for working in the travel industry. Cat D. Orange, CA
