They are reliable and trustworthy and their prices are very competitive. Cost me 35 quid each way to Blackpool!!! Not bad at all. They also have some fantastic characters working for them, none more so than a guy known as Shaft, he is a top man and he epitomises everything that is good about Motown. They have polite and knowledgeable receptionists and i wouldn't use anyone else.

I used Borough Taxis around two or three times to get me to and from work, with them being based in…read morethe area where I needed to get to, being sick and tired of taxi firms where I live in Middleton, being unable to understand the location, despite being just a few miles away, having to give directions out everytime or them "struggling to find it so they were late", I thought a local taxi firm would be exciting and the best choice - sadly I was proven once again to be mistaken. Borough Taxis have multiple phone lines and bases, as I recall they are based in areas of Oldham including Royton and Chadderton. The pricing compared to other retailers such as Diamond One and Connect Cars, those two being Middleton's two largest local taxi companies (of course this doesn't include Uber), seemed a lot higher, my journey cost around a third as much as one of those would charge, and I honestly can't understand why - the only difference between these firms is the town they are based in, and council they operate under. It wasn't just the pricing which was a problem, it was the service too with Borough Taxis regularly arriving late for pre-booked services, the drivers seemed typically friendly enough when picking me up but still the taxi being late, and then overpriced to top it up really is insulting. The phone staff when booking the taxi weren't as friendly or helpful and basically left me waiting, providing little to no update each time I'd phone and try and find out where my taxis were. Below average service with higher than normal pricing and regularly lateness are three factors you don't want in a minicab hire service, sadly Borough Taxis has all three and sadly as a result of this deserves a single one-star rating.

The latest incident (10th September '21) we booked a taxi 6 hours before we needed it, after 3 chase up calls we had to find an alternative company to get us home! He said 'it's in my cab, so it's mine'. Now whenever we phone Delta Cars, if he turns up, he puts two fingers up, and drives off . We then have to wait for another taxi. How this guy still has a licence is beyond me! Avoid at all costs.This issue is currently being dealt with by Oldham Council.

I phoned the taxi through to the office, and now it appears someone called Ziggy, a receptionist passed our job over to his brother without booking it in. He telephoned his brother and have since found out it is called flagging! So hence neither driver or customer are insured. BE WARNED do NOT use this firm, how many other jobs are done like that. I have contacted the company to get the insurance details on so many occasions only to be told of the situation, the management refused to speak to me. If it is NOT booked in then you are NOT insured. Police contacted and their Licensing Department.

They take your details and THEY call it a BOOKING? No money is asked for at this time so to me I do not consider it a booking. I am simply told "don't worry just simply ring the driver/office when you get off the plane". So you don't worry about it. (after all you haven't paid! THEN you find someone cheaper. I found Airporttaxis.co.uk are 25% CHEAPER for a 40 mile journey so I paid & booked with THEM (on line) and ignored "Cartax Radio Cars". As soon as I touched down and before I got through customs (and the plane was 20 minutes early!) I received about 4 phone calls from a Pakistani who spoke some undecipherable English but enough to make me understand he was my driver. With all the noise and bustle and 4 calls from him I am assured that this is the person I booked with Airport Taxis when in fact it is NOT. So I meet the driver outside terminal 1 (who knows my name and that I am going to Rotherham) He "conveniently" avoids the answer to my question "Are you Airport taxis" replies Yes I am your taxi. He knows my name and destination so I jump in. Not until I get to my destination and give him £80 inc £4 tip does he say "Its £100". I then discover my mistake. We settle for £90 because he has done the journey and CARTAX RADIO CARS INSIST I BOOKED so this £76 journey which I SHOULD have had with AIRPORT TAXIS has cost me £166.!!!! MY ADVICE - STEER CLEAR OF CARTAX RADIO CARS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !
