When I informed them of the fact that I travel with a service animal their response was immediate --- "We'll book you at the Hilton Garden Inn" ... The experience there was great from checking in to checking out ... The lobby is clean and modern with comfortable lounge chairs big pillows ... When you go to your room your television has a big welcome with your name scrolling across the screen ... I'll have to admit that was a FIRST for me and I felt like a rock star!!! The bathroom was huge and disability equipped ... however the floors were marble and COLD and the water from the shower was not contained inside the shower enclosure so slippery cold marble floors in a mobility disability appointed room does not make for a feeling of well-being ... nonetheless it was a beautifully arranged room more like a two-room suite because the bedroom was totally separate from the bathroom and closet area ... A disability doesn't mean we're all in a wheelchair and the closet, while having plenty of drawer space, did not have a place for me to hang my coat or dresses ... the hangers were about 4 ft from the floor meaning you could hang folded pants but everything else would hit the floor and there were no hooks to hang coats jackets or sweaters ... this struck me as very odd ... But like I said the bedroom was completely separate and I had a very comfortable king size bed with lights & shelving on both sides and charging ports for phones etc., ... A long desk lined the opposite wall & held the widescreen TV which swivels so while sitting at the desk you could still watch TV comfortably ... oh and I forgot to mention that next to the closet area was the microwave and refrigerator area ... The hotel also provides a complete workout room in the basement next to a laundry room where the washer is only $1.75 and the dryer is FREE ... The hotel dining room is called SAUCE ... their breakfast choices are amazing and lunch and dinner are Italian with great portions and wonderful wine selections .... I truly enjoyed my stay

Solution was to provide a space heater the NEXT day. Temperature approximately 60 F in room. Weather in single digits. Next day the space heater does arrive. Space heater then trips breaker and then lights in room go out. Multiple calls to front desk. After answer, the solution was to wait for maintenance to arrive for the day in approximately 60-90 minutes to flip the breaker. Proceeded to check out. I understand issues can occur. Especially in Michigan winter. The low review is rooted in the lack of responsiveness to correct the issues and no compensation provided in return. The heating issue was stated as known by the front desk. Had multiple rooms and heating issue was consistent across rooms.

As a fire victim being placed at the Hilton I can not even begin to describe the disappointment…read more Your house burned down and you are told by your insurance company they are putting you in a "nice hotel" until they find you a rental property. You show up first night go to your room and there's a hotel party on the floor. People screaming, playing loud music, all while you and your kids just had their home burn down in front of their eyes. As the days turn into months, they have teams, weddings, a golf challenge and none of these people know that they just rented a hotel room that is in a hotel that is full of fire victims. Mean while the victims have to deal with parties, being harassed, encircled by potty parents who are "worried about their kids safety", because your in pajama pants outside one night. while in the mean time you are stuck here at liberty to the hotel. Watched a breakfast woman breath all over food, take a dirty towel wipe it all over her plastic gloves, then proceeded to touch the food. Tell the hotel management and they don't do anything because she is the niece of some other hotel manger. The next morning they purposely make your life harder by not having the one breakfast food you can eat due to a medical condition. They laugh at you while you walk to the counter looking for the one bit of food that you can stomach. They choose to make my life harder as a fire victim while they laughed about. Thinking it was funny to make someone's life harder. The place has bugs, they don't clean your room, even told here's the vacuum do it yourself. If your booking a party here know the hotel is full of fire victims that have to go to work the next day, that didn't ask to be there. Of course no one told you but now you know. I will never go back. From the breakfast lady taking a dirty towel in her hands and touching food and tongs, then trying to make you use the tongs she just breathed all over, or the uppity parents allowed to encircle you right after your house burned down or the bites I have all over my body from the disgusting room. I would steer clear from the place unless you have no other choice. The public has a choice, the fire victims don't.

I arrived about 3:15 and my preselected room was not ready. After waiting in the lobby for an hour, (?) the Manager decided to give me a different room to end my waiting. During my wait I learned that the wifi was down for the day and observed several other people approach the front desk with a variety of issues. I choose to belive that it was all eventually satisfactorily remedied but I don't truly know. The EXTRAS The hotel is equipped with a digital key to allow for check in and going straight to your room. Thisc feature was not working for me. Also, Check-out via the app was not working for me either. I had to stop by the desk to check out. There is both free and pay-for-use wifi. I didn't experience any other issues with connectivity on the free wifi with the exception of wifi being down on arrival day. Breakfast was served daily. Guests were anle to come down during the 6am to 9am breakfast window. We had the option to dine in the gathering space or return to our rooms. Options include hot breakfast sandwiches, cereals, boiled eggs, muffins, breakfast bars, etc. THE HOTEL This small, 3-story building is still fairly new and filled with bright colors and lights consistent with the brand. The lobby/lounge area is an open concept design filled with a couple tables for dining, seating, tvs and business center library. The business center is two computers and printer on the side of the lounge area.  The printer was said to not be working the day I checked in. The fitness center is accessible via key 24-7. It has a decent selecting of machines and weights. I was able to use it several times without any issues. The hotel provides a complimentary tea, hotcocoa and coffee bar for guests but if you want something more, there are snack and frozen food items available for purchase at the front desk.  There is an indoor pool on the property. I didn't use the pool. During my last full day, the pool was closed...another guest informed me that someone had pooped in it - thus it was closed for cleaning. They provide a small coin operated laundry area comprised of 2 washers and 2 dryers. Laundry detergent and fabric softner products were available gratis the laundry area. I was able to use these facilities without any issues. THE ROOMS The King Suite is very spacious and complete with everything you need for a studio apartment-like experience.  The kitchenette has a full size dishwasher, microwave, 2 cup coffee maker, sink and apartment sized refrigerator.  Coffee, tea, sweetners, plates, bowls, mugs, strainers, cookware, glasses and silverware are provided. The lounge area of the room includes a desk, a table that neatly tucked away under the desk, a queen sofa sleeper and large tv. A single dresser that doubles as the tv stand. The sleeping area includes a comfortable king bed, closet space with hangers, iron and ironing board.  The shower-only bathroom is a respectable size, not too small and not too large.  I found the 1 drawers to be sufficient storage. THE LOCATION  Not much is within immediate walking distance except 2 other hotels, a credit union, a BMW dealership and a taco bell. One plus is that I-75 is very close. THE STAFF The front desk staff were patient and friendly. Housekeeping was by request and I opted out during my stay. I was able to get supplies and swap out trash whenever I found Housekeeping in the hallway. I was also able to collect clean towels and linen from the desk during the hours when Housekeeping was off duty. Overall, despite the kinks, it was an okay stay.

I typically book online, and I am able to check-in on the app. Interestingly, my digital key never seems to work here (never available on the app) so I always have to stop at the front-desk. The various persons working the front desk have been polite and helpful. After a quick ID verification, I have my physical keys and I am on my way. At a previous stay, there were some issues with things in the room such as the rubber seal around the refrigerator door being nearly completely torn off rendering the refrigerator practically useless. The front desk person offered to refrigerate things for me for the night as they were not able to send a replacement, and I didn't want to re-pack and move rooms. During my most recent stay, I think that I heard a dog barking in a room down the hall in the late evening, but I didn't bother to get up to confirm it. The hotel includes a laundry room - a washer and a dryer - on the 4th floor. Breakfast is included and generally offers a decent spread including hot and cold foods (see photos). There is an on-site bar/restaurant with a limited snack section, however, I've never ordered anything from there. For me the location, just-off of US-23 is perfect. There is usually plenty of parking in the lot and the building is accessible from the back with your room key. Conveniently nearby (walking distance) is the Meijer grocery, gas station, several different coffee shops (Biggby and Tim Horton's), Dollar Tree, etc. All of these offer great places to pick up snacks, drinks, etc. if you don't want to pay hotel prices. The rooms don't have a microwave but the one in the breakfast area is available to use 24-7. I find the rooms to be spacious and the beds to be comfortable. Overall, it serves my purposes and meets my requirements, so I'll likely continue staying here from time to time.

We arrived on Halloween, and found the staff friendly and in the spirit of the season. Our room was clean, and, for a weekend, relatively quiet both Friday and Saturday nights. The few times we did hear someone arrive, we noticed that even when folks speak with normal volume, there isn't much sound insulation. So your satisfaction with noise levels will be influenced by your luck with the courtesy of your near neighbors. We booked a rate with breakfast for World of Hyatt members, and found the breakfast good for a hotel at this price point: bacon, eggs, potatoes, fresh fruit, etc., plenty of options. From my unique perspective, one of the best parts about staying here is making a trip across the parking lot to the Meijer Supercenter, to load up on value-priced Michigan Wolverines gear. Thanks, HP, for a good stay.

I really wished they had a hot tub. It was nice to have the little shop downstairs to get water during the evening. They also have a nice selection of snacks and microwavable if you don't want to go anywhere. The only problem was the people above us. Kids running back and forth and slamming into the walls throughout the day and night, making it hard to get a good nights sleep. I really wish they would put large families of kids on the lower floors and put singles and adult couples higher up, so they don't have to be tortured by noise. for $185 a night it was pretty nice.

There just aren't many staff working and they aren't the friendly and knowledgeable ones I remember from days of yore, the kind who recognized you (because we came regularly...). The bistro looks oddly empty: the back wall where I think there would be bottles of booze and the drinks/to-go food display case are empty. The room: every room used to have a mini fridge and apparently that is now on request only. Mine had one sitting on the floor already but my colleague was told she had to request it. The hotel was unusually empty compared to all of my previous visits and there was a sketchy looking couple down the hall one time too (I didn't talk to them so I can't say for sure if anything was up). The price is unusually low for a Courtyard these days, and I suspect there is new management that isn't putting in the work to maintain Courtyard standards.
