I ordered the seafood risotto which consisted of shrimp, mussels, clams, and calamari. Aside from the presentation, the dish was very off. The mussels and shrimp were the only edible seafood on the plate, and the risotto lacked flavor. My friend got the gnocchi pomodoro which was very basic and also had poor flavor. It tasted like watered down tomato paste with a small pinch of salt. The pizza that other tables ordered looked very good, so I would assume that would be the thing to get if you find yourself here. Based off of the service we received, I would not choose to return.

A few of the guys on the trip had been looking for some Lasagna, and this was our 3rd city to try to find some. I know what you're thinking. You're in Switzerland - and you want Italian food? Hey, it happens. Well, Spiga did a fantastic job! The folks that took care of us - from taking the order to those cooking our food - were all pleasant and understanding. Let me elaborate. The guy that prepared our lasagna said his wife was from Switzerland when he met her in the States, and they had moved back over here. He was originally from Miami, FL, had also spent 11 years in Augusta, GA, and they were moving to Nashville, TN next month for a new job he was starting. It's a small world, isn't it? Anyway, those of us that had the Lasagna felt it was exceptionally good - especially considering to have found it in a shopping mall in Bern, Switzerland - a long way from home. They saved a great table for our group of 4 tucked up under the giant awning-which was lucky because there was a brief rain shower. Staffing is a bit slim but boy do they hustle. The owners son ended up helping us out and we had a very fun time interacting with him. The tempting menu offered almost too many options including hosemade pastas, pizzas and mains. We opted to share the bright and tasty tomato bruschetta (yum!) while I got the lasagna (huge portion) and my wife the lemony risotto with shrimp (favorite). Our friends got a tasty Neapolitan pizza (lots of options) and a spaghetti with eggplant which they enjoyed. We washed it down with a very reasonably priced bottle of brunello (2020 vintage-score!) and finished with a bit of their own limoncello.
