A group of five of us decided to spend the evening doing an escape room, followed by axe throwing…read more We chose to visit on a Friday evening at 6pm, which was surprisingly not too busy. Someone in our group decided to choose the Harry Potter escape room. Unfortunately, the rest of our group was unaware it was the hardest escape room at this location. We had a fun time in the escape room. Our group was a mixture of experts and amateurs, so I think this room was a little too much for some of us. The clues in the first room seemed hard to find and understand, but we also had an issue with one player holding on to all the clues. We did manage to make it to the last room, but we needed a few extra minutes to complete it. I'd love to come back and give one of the other rooms a shot. We finished off our night with axe throwing. I've always wanted to go, as well as Andrew. My weapon of choice was the axe, but everyone else seemed to like the ninja stars more. We'll definitely be back in the nearby future!

We chose Loretta Paganini School of Cooking because of Loretta's outstanding culinary reputation, but also because of their wide variety of class offerings. When we saw the breakfast class for crepes, waffles, and pancakes, the choice was easy. This isn't something obscure and is easily replicated at home. The Loretta Paganini School of Cooking is located in a snug and cozy older house. They have a small shop of chef-driven cooking supplies and one main room for cooking classes. The main room is smaller and I imagine can fit 10 people. This was my first cooking class ever and I loved the slanted mirrors on the ceiling to see instructions more clearly. Chef Loretta is SO talented that its probably easy to forget we're just simpletons, but she was able to laugh off the mistakes we made as true beginners. We had no idea what to expect prep wise, but everyone in the class was given different duties for the dish (so you yourself were never making it all). We ate the food as we went along and chatted techniques. Her assistants were great about providing water, coffee and general assistance when Chef was busy helping others. This was a fun experience and we would 100% return!

The brunch menu featured a variety of different recipes including frittatas, homemade sausage, a potato and sweet potato hash, pancakes with a bourbon syrup, cinnamon buns and much more! I saw advertisements for Artist at Heart Paint Party online and quickly dismissed them! I am NO…read moreartist. Why would I even try something like that?? Boy was I wrong!! I was thumbing through a magazine and saw a painting hanging in a fancy house and I fell in love!! Way out of my budget probably. So I thought to myself, how hard can that be to make myself? It's an abstract, maybe I can figure it out. Still I was frozen in self doubt! Then I remembered that advertisement I saw online and contacted the artist offering the classes. Denyse was kind, helpful and insightful. She gave me suggestions, directed me to videos of her classes that would help me and even followed up!! So much encouragement, I feel like I can do it. I can go back and rewatch the videos and send questions via email if I need to. Her online classes are interactive, too! All this from the comfort of home! I've been driving by "Stella's Art Gallery" for quite a while now. I always imagined it as a tiny…read morestudio with limited selection. Well I couldn't have been more wrong. We were invited to an art show last night by a dear friend who is an excellent artist; in several mediums. We arrived and entered to find the establishment was SO much more than I ever dreamed. There are a multitude of local artists displaying their work as well as teaching classes. The various studios were extraordinary. So many different mediums, so many forms, so many interpretations... it was inspiring. There were so many works I wanted to take home I could have filled my car; but then where would my wife have sat? So I resigned myself to enjoying the beauty of it all in the moment. And commiting to return often. If you enjoy the experience of creativity and the amazement of people's talents, you should definitely make a trip to "Stella's Art Gallery". Enjoy to your heart's content.
