When we got there, I noticed the shop was more like a business office, which isn't typical of an auto repair shop. You don't even see the repair side. I'm thinking, "This place is gonna be $sspensive!" Was greeted by Dylan. He remembered me from our convo for the quote. Since we didn't have a ride after drop off, my daughter and I had to sit in the waiting area. Dylan was conscious of the wait and squeezed us in to get my car tended to next. The staff was very courteous and offered us donuts and drinks. They even gave us a separate space for social distancing, which was very nice if them. Dylan came to me for things he wanted to point out and kept me notified of all charges. At the end my car was well taken care of and the pricing was fair. I was happy with my experience here. Its a good shop!

Discrimination against people with disabilities. I brought my van in for several things…read more They agreed to do 1 hr Diagnostic service for $185 with an engine issue. After 10 min it became clear they needed to get into the doghouse I have a conversion van so this meant moving a lot of stuff around. I also have a musculoskeletal disability, and it took me about 20 min to move the vast majority of the stuff which needed to be moved, which was a lot for me, I'm still in pain from it, but I did it because that's what needed to be done, but then I always need help with the 70 lb RV refrigerator. 2 min to do for an able bodied guy. mechanic agreed to do it Then they came back and said they couldn't get to the diagnostic stuff that day. And that if I came back: 1) They'd charge me $100 extra for moving the 70 lb RV fridge in and out. 2) They'd charge me twice as much as they had quoted for 1 hr diagnostic. When asked why the front desk drone blathered something about extra time getting in and out of the doghouse. which takes 5 min. I've taken this van to 6-7 mechanics over the years. When the doghouse has needed to be accessed, this has always been the process. It's never been a problem before. I go out of my way, even injuring myself, to do what I can. And then they help with the RV fridge, which only takes a minute. The Americans with Disabilities Act explicitly states that "reasonable accommodations must be made for individuals with disabilities" To charge them more than twice as much is to punish them for having a disability. The fact that most people with disabilities are socio-economically impacted makes this doubly unethical. Whatever good qualities this shop has, Discrimination agains people with disabilities makes the difference and earns them a 1 star review.

Got it back after a few short days and will be getting some further work done as time goes on. This truck had belonged to my former landlord whereupon his daughter sold it to me as the old boy had gone to a retirement facility. In his later years maintenance and repairs had been let go but being sturdy and strong running, I bought it and am slowly bringing it up to snuff and it is good in the event I should need to do any long distance traveling with it. . Attended the new shop opening, located just off I-25 and Colorado route 66, where I met Mr. Maggio's family and some of the other customers who call Hands On Autotech their home for vehicle repair and servicing. I first went there based on the recommendation of the Martino troubleshooter show on 630 KHOW AM radio; 10 AM - 2PM, M-F. My opinion is that Tom's shop takes something of a scientific approach to vehicle repair and will go more in depth with an analyses than another shop I had been to for an issue with my '99 Tahoe. As an EV owner himself I gather that Tom is up on the current tech, perhaps more than some other places who would have men of my age (68) from the "dinosaur era" of automotive tech working at their shops.

There was a problem with the communication surrounding the tow transfer so I started my experience with Hands on Auto Tech with some trepidation. Tom handled the situation and we moved onto the real problem with my truck. The diagnosis was the clutch so I approved the repair and waited a few days for the parts to arrive and the repair to proceed. After the clutch was replaced another problem with the operation of the clutch was discovered so I agreed to the additional repair and another day for repair. After a week I was reunited with my truck. The repair was costly, lengthy and unexpected but coming out the other side of this experience I learned a couple of lessons. 1. If you have your vehicle towed to a shop follow the tow truck to the shop and verify the transfer. 2. Communication and follow up throughout the repair are key Tom was great to deal with and I feel that he was honest with me about the repairs needed and the cost of those repairs. Having recently moved to the area I feel my vehicle maintenance and repair needs can be checked off the list. I can recommend Hands on Auto Tech to anyone needing an honest repair facility and Tom as a good guy to deal with.

I brought a 2009 GMC Yukon XL Denali here to have it inspected before I purchased it from a dealer…read morein Lafayette (DI Auto) on May 11th, 2023. Zach the service manager told me the vehicle was in great shape, and would just need new brake pads in a few months. Here is the link to their inspection report: https://shop.tekmetric.com/inspection/W1ITrcRe8c1o1Zkx7uuIxQDwqrd76pPA2XVCsstIorw I was ecstatic, as I had walked away from 3 other used vehicles inspected by other mechanics that needed many thousands of dollars in repairs. The day after I brought the vehicle home, I noticed a slight hissing noise on cold start. After doing some research I determined my drivers side exhaust manifold was leaking. I thought it was odd Lee Myles missed that, so I brought it in to Christian Brothers Thornton to have it replaced. They proceeded to tell me not only did I have a leaking exhaust manifold, but I needed a new CV axle on the front drivers side, a new rack and pinion assembly, and my engine was knocking on the bottom and would need to be replaced. The total for doing all the work was around $15k. I was absolutely stunned, and figured that I would bring it to another mechanic to have a second opinion. I brought the truck to Accurate Automotive in Thornton, and they too came up with a quote for $12k to do all that work with an engine rebuild. I still had hope that maybe these mechanics were trying to work me over. Here's a link to their inspection report: https://shop.tekmetric.com/inspection/W1ITrcRe8c1o1Zkx7uuIxQDwqrd76pPA2XVCsstIorw I had my vehicle towed down to Courtesy Automotive down in Colorado Springs after some advice from friends who own trucks with LS engines like mine. After waiting two weeks in the queue, I got a quote for $14k to have my motor replaced, steering rack and pinion assembly fixed, and front right CV axle replaced. Here is the inspection report form Courtesy Automotive: https://shop.tekmetric.com/authorize/Iw3P2bNsxsNecj88jcezkO1r-nHS7khvhxJSVPASNOk Ultimately I am going to pay the $14k to have it fixed because I have a loan out on the truck for $9k. When I called Zach the service manager and asked the name of the mechanic who looked at my truck, he said he couldn't tell me and that it was his name on the inspection report. I paid $160 for the inspection and got no pictures of the oil leaks on my rear main seal, oil pan and transmission cooler. At best they are negligent, and at the worst they are getting kickbacks from the dealer I purchased the truck from to get clean inspection reports. My mistake was not getting my truck inspected by two seperate mechanics before I bought it to make sure they said the same things. If I had done that I would have saved $24k and had the chance to buy a vehicle that didn't literally bankrupt my family and cause a colossal amount of stress. I drove my Denali for three weeks before I realized I had been sold a lemon that could have literally killed my family had the steering assembly or CV axle failed while driving. Don't bring your vehicle here. These people are shady and if you have any sense about buying used vehicles please get it inspected by two mechanics (not here!) and make sure they say similar things. I might never financially recover from this but I'm hoping my review saves someone else the heartbreak and stress my family has had to go through because of their incompetence and corruption. Don't make the same mistake as me. Take your vehicle elsewhere. Lee Myles is a junkyard mechanic masquerading as a reputable shop.

Horrible!!! Used…read morethem for possibly 5 yrs servicing 4 different cars. They are good at general mechanics. But complex, No!!! Here are 4 situations that made me see new mechanics: 1.) 8 yrs ago, I overheated the engine and cracked the block on my 1984 Landcruiser. They rebuilt the engine, for about $8,000.00. While in the process, Tim claimed the bottom did not need rebuilding. So they closed up the engine. But I was now burning oil. 2 Qts/ 500 miles. They refused to fix the problem. Tim blamed that I told them to not rebuild the bottom end of the engine. (Ask him about it!) 2.) Just last month, Feb 2026, the catalytic converter on my Landcruiser started to fail. They installed that about 6yrs ago, for about $1,200.00. 3.) 2006 V70,Volvo had a small radiator leak. I brought it in each of the 2 times the Low Level light went on. Each time, they could not find the leak. The 3rd time I brought it in was because the radiator blew and the car overheated. I told them to check that I had not cracked the block before repairing the radiator. They repaired the radiator first., about $1,200.00. Then determined the block was cracked. (Rebuild by Swedish Motors was $6,000.00.) 4.) 2009 S80 Volvo. Had them look at this car to see if it was safe to buy, for my 17yr old daughter. The results of their inspection was "it's in great shape". 1 yr later the transmission went. And I found out that this was the one yr Volvo used a Ford impala transmission. No replacement parts, used or rebuilt transmissions were available, per Swedish Motors. I had to scrap the car. When I confronted Tim and Tyler that they should have known this about this model they said that was something I should have known about the car. NOTE: These guys do not deserve those big stickers on their front window that say Toyota and Volvo. Call me .... Dave Longmont, Co 720-745-9460
