I began seeing staff at TWC in May, 2014, after a whiplash injury from a car accident. I found this practice by accident and am so lucky I did. In April, 2015, my insurance-paid treatment plan was over. Since that time, I have chosen to stay with their practice. The therapists and practitioners are so good that I can't give up the benefits they provide me!
When I started going to TWC, right after my accident, I was scared and broken due to the emotional and physical trauma I experienced. Originally, I had contacted a large local hospital which had a massage/holistic medicine clinic. When they couldn't provide me with a biography of the staff who would be touching me, I chose to move on. I found TWC quite by accident, while surfing the Internet. From the minute I walked in the door, I felt safe, comfortable, and pleased. I have gotten massage for years, so I know "good massage" when I see it. From their intake process, to the high quality medical grade oils they use, to the education and training of staff--this is a top-notch operation. Rates are reasonable. And, I feel I'm getting "so much more" from TWC staff than I've received from others who charge similar rates. I have been so pleased with the progress my body has made, since the auto accident.. Kim gave me access to her top practitioners. Her approach is to recognize what you--the client--needs. Each treatment approach starts with an intake and is customized to the individual client.
I worked with 3 practitioners:
(1) Randy Fillion, former long-time faculty at a well-known massage school in SE Michigan who has trained hundreds of students. Randy is a gifted instructor who takes a very analytical approach to the needs of the client. He specializes in what I call "targeted massage." With his knowledge of muscle groups, he would zero in on an area and take a very "orthopedic" approach to my whiplash symptoms. I've never experienced the modality practiced by anyone other than Randy. For someone recovering from an auto accident, it was perfect. If I had neck and jaw pain, he would focus on that area. I always walked out of his office feeling better than when I walked in.
(2) Kim Conniff utilizes interesting massage strokes that feel potent and strong. For such a petite woman, she packs a punch. Kim likes to let the body tell her what it needs. Kim also utilizes Raindrop Therapy. It is an extremely calming process that I highly recommend.
(3) Colleen Pascoe is a gifted practitioner of cranial-sacral therapy and myofasscial release. She brings an added benefit to the session of being a medical intuitive. Colleen listens to your body and uses what it says to decide how to treat you. Every session is unique. After some sessions, I literally felt like I was floating out of her room. Sometimes, I'd have to sit in the lobby and get re-grounded before I began driving. Colleen is skilled at listening to your body. Her formal training as a hospital Occupational Therapist gives her unique understanding of the human body. Colleen will apply whatever technique and gifts your body needs. It is always a unique experience while on her table.
Lastly, Kim Conniff has developed the niche practice which targets worker's comp and auto accident patients. This represents a percentage of the clientele. Kim and her staff are efficient at submitting treatment documentation to satisfy claims adjustors. All of my claims were remitted promptly. The staff is efficient, knowledgeable, and well-respected by the insurance community. These people treat my body like a temple. And, they respect the insurance portion of it. read more
