I have been a customer of Trans-Bridge since the 1990's to visit family. Over the course of decades of using this bus line I have seen the Customer Service decline. I recently traveled for the holidays and was planning to return to NYC on December 26. I purchased a round trip ticket on December 23rd. My December 26th return trip was cancelled on Christmas due to a forecasted snow event. As of the time of cancellation, I saw that the original round trip ticket record in my account disappeared. ??? I was unable to use my original return trip ticket to reschedule - the ticket record simply vanished! Even the original Order Number disappeared! I had to purchase an additional return ticket on December 25th as their office was closed on Christmas and I had to be sure I could return home the next day before the snow hit. I was not able to speak to a representative to understand what happened to my altered account records on the Holiday. Afterwards, I reached out to Trans-Bridge to claim my refund for the cancelled original return trip and the company is now refusing to refund me for that ticket, claiming that I used it. ??? I have ccard receipts and an email confirming the original round trip purchase and subsequent purchase of a needed additional ticket home. Trans-Bridge is claiming that I used 3 tickets for 2 trips - ??? There is a serious editing of my ticket records now and I just can't understand what Trans-Bridge did to my account. It is infuriating to speak to Customer Service (or try to) at this company. Condescending and unhelpful. I am not able to speak to the person 'dealing' with my issue, and am told it takes up to '72 hours' for a reply. Well, it's beyond that now and it's obvious that I will not be receiving additional correspondence or a fair and just resolution. Trans-Bridge has no competition. This status is becoming a handy tool for reducing customer comfort as well as reducing service. Port Authority is a mess - especially on holidays. The drivers have no way of controlling the ridiculous lines and cases when buses are late or re-routed. Clear, audible communication to riders waiting in the chaos is not available. Buses will go off schedule rather frequently. Maybe providing your drivers with a bullhorn or portable mic would be helpful. We all try to help each other with 'did you hear what he said' over and over again as the stress builds with not knowing what is going on. Gate changes, stops re-routed. So many complaints. Noise regulations on runs are not practiced by all drivers. It is so unfair to expect to sit on a bus for hours and have to listen to loud conversations, tech noise and relentless Tik-Tok videos. I recently watched in horror as a new driver not familiar with Newark Airport nearly drove us under an overpass that was not high enough for bus clearance. That trip from Allentown Airport to Port Authority took over 4 hours. On another trip with a full bus, I witnessed a driver texting on his phone while driving! Trans-Bridge had a wonderful Northampton bus station with an office location with a ticket window, heat/cooled waiting room, vending machines and a bathroom. This is now off-limits to customers and we have been moved to Allentown Airport and are dropped off on a sidewalk (with a quarter mile walk to the nearest heated or cooled area, vending machines and a clean bathroom) and no cover from the elements. And Trans-Bridge closed its Customer Service desk at that airport, forcing you to have to call them if there is an issue and deal with whatever assistance they deem suitable if the office is open. Staff hours are being reduced. With no competition, this bus line can simply 'do as they wish'. I bought my ticket online to Clinton NJ round trip and it was a bit expensive but the trip went off without a hitch. I arrived at Port Authority early so was first in line and the bus was almost empty. They have a bathroom on board and it's clean and the seats are comfortable with seat belts. When I returned the bus driver knew my name as they have a list of passengers. All the staff was very friendly and they ran on schedule. There's lots of restaurants and clean bathrooms in PABT too and it's safe. read more

Without a doubt the worst bus service I've come across in my 64 years on earth. I bought a month's worth of tickets a week before they shut down for the pandemic. They told me to send the tickets back for a refund. I sent the tickets back but never got the refund. They stole 425 bucks from me Then, the other day, my disabled wife bought a round trip ticket to the city. She was delayed at the doctors office and missed the 3:15 bus from NYC back home. She tried to get on the next bus and despite there being plenty of seats, the driver made her buy another 40 dollar ticket to get home. I am a 20+ year rider of Transbridge, due mainly to a lack of other transportation options to NYC from my area. The company has minimal respect for their customers in my opinion, and routinely blames problem they have (which are frequent) on something other than their own shortcomings. Case in point, their new online booking system has been in-place for almost 12-months and still does not work properly. The last several weeks, myself and a number of other commuter book riders I've talked with occasionally encountered an inability to book on the day of travel...the system will show no bus runs, and when you click back gives an error that you can't "book runs in the past" even though there is no option to select a prior date through the system. Then the drivers tell you can't get on the bus without a ticket even though it's their own system preventing you from booking. And Transbridge will just tell you to reset your cache or try another browser, neither of which work because it is flawed computer coding at issue. Last night was classic... they simply cancelled the second to the last run of the night, combined it with the last run despite the heavy Thanksgiving queue of people waiting for the cancelled bus. Even better, they don't have any means of notifying riders other than a 1-line Twitter post. No doubt the last run could not handle all the riders. I grabbed one regular and split a $220 Uber from NYC after realizing 30 min after the departure time that the bus wasn't coming. This company has gotten significantly worse over the years, and no longer even enforces their own cell phone and quiet bus policies. Nothing better than riding home after a 14-hr workday in the city and having to listen to someone in the seat behind you talk on their cell phone for 45-min. They should buy all their regular commuters a set of noise cancelling headphones for X-Mas. read more

I'm surprised yet not surprised at the average rating. It's really not a bad bus at all, and almost always arriving/departing at the exact time it's supposed to which is hard to do. I take this from Clinton to NYC Port Authority. The bus is always new, very clean and seats are padded and comfortable! Some busses have charging ports on every row and some have TVs (although they never turn on). Lost 2 stars because: first, they only accept cash the day of and it must be exact change or you don't get money back. Second because the office on site where you can buy your tickets has horribly inconvenient hours to purchase tickets ahead of time. Third, the schedule online is TERRIBLE. It's in size 2 font and when you rotate your phone to view, it misaligns and becomes even more difficult to read the departure times. They desperately need to update their website or release an app like NJ Transit has. read more

When I asked again I told her there were 5 people waiting for the 1:15 at Clinton and she told me the dispatcher told the driver NOT TO STOP in Easton or Clinton?*%$ She told me I could get my ticket refunded but their system can't deliver to certain email systems so I have to wait for the credit to show up on my credit card bill. Been using Transbridge since the 90s.. While on another Yelp page they claim not to hold a monopoly, and that "they don't operate with that mindset", I must beg to differ. When you are not reimbursing customers for tickets that can't be used, when you are forcing customers to scramble around to buy tickets last min & find an ATM because your transportation center is only open from 5 AM to 9 AM on a weekday, while people and children must stand shivering in the winter winds and the warm terminal with bathroom access is closed , praying the bus is on time, - When your website is constantly full of misinformation and prices and yet you're expected to pay more once you're AT the bus door, with a long line of people behind you, having to scramble for cash yet again because there are no other options, when a ticket agent from your company is overseeing the whole bus terminal wkndow including other bus lines, when said ticket agents are constantly unhappy that they have no support & can barely get the time to have lunch , when your drivers don't show up on a scheduled stop and you miss your connecting flight and there isnt an offer of even a slightly discounted ticket or some semblance of an amends, if it is always a customers fault when things go wrong, if your bus drivers are constantly frustrated because they're being forced into positions to be responsible for your poor leadership, when your ticket prices just go higher and higher, to the point where it is actually cheaper to rent a car to New York City, when you are forced to stand on the bus for an hour and a half from Port Authority to the Lehigh Valley (yes this once happened to me), when you have to rely on Twitter to see where your bus is & its only updated 30% of the time, when you're constantly trying to reach someone and it's seemingly impossible no matter which method you use, When several times there is a passenger who is speaking loudly on the phone, playing music on speaker or eating a tunafish sandwich while something putrid smelling is backed up in the toilet and you're barely keeping it together to make it home after a 14 hour day on Wall St & the driver takes no responsibility (Not because they are a bad person, but because they are clearly demoralized and no longer like their job, receive zero managerial support and are constantly thrown under the bus - 'no pun intended ) ...it is most certainly a monopoly. Longing for the day someone starts an alternative transportation company. In all honesty, the decent and good reviews here are largely from people who have taken the bus for the first time or a handful of times. They are not commuters who had to trek in and out of the city during the pandemic. In a post pandemic world a little dignity goes a long way. It's not much. Just some decency. When you guys mess up, offer riders a ticket or reimbursement or a discount at least. Keep hours at the ticket booth reasonable. Were not truckers who only take the 5am bus. Treat your drivers a little better so they're not taking the heat for you all the time. They are clearly burnt out. I am generally a very content and happy person and leave good reviews when it I can. But it's not appropriate in this case, because everyone sits on the bus in quiet desperation because they're too tired to actually say anything. And nothing is ever done. So we grumble to each other and shake our heads and hope for the best. The good and positive reviews here, in all honesty, are from people who are not commuters and have taken Transbridge for the first time or a handful of times. I've been dealing with Transbridge for decades and it's gotten increasingly worse as their fleet has grown in size. And now, when everyone is trying to recover from a tenuous economy, they raise their ticket prices. Transbridge can sell bus or two, and still manage their bottom line, (The irony in that is, that if they treated their customers better and had better prices, they would have deep loyalty and a robust revenue stream) ...but commuters can't afford to add dollars to their already high monthly commute. Since I now have figured out a carpool situation,, I save money and have 30% less stress on my commute. Its also cheaper for me to rent a car many times. So that's what I mostly do now. This is why Transbridge is losing customers. I have always pretty much kept my mouth shut for years, with the hopes that this whole situation would improve, but it's snowballed in the last two years. Companies can no longer get away with poor customer service and/or treatment.. a company can splay all of the butterflies on its Twitter page and can claim that we are valued all they want, but those words mean nothing unless we feel it and see it. We purchased tickets less than 48hrs ago for a trip this coming weekend. Hospital emergency resulting in an operation prohibits us from going on this trip. This message is in response to Jenifer L.'s (cited as being the business owner from Trans-Bridge) to my commentary of Trans-Bridge 6 days ago. Jennifer, your response to my review reflects the continuing disrespectful and clear lack of concern practices for customers who use Trans-Bridge for transportation. I completely fail to understand why last Wednesday, when I waited over 25 minutes in line at the Clinton bus station with over 20 other people, how Transbridge could not have foreseen the pending inconvenience that was about to unfold when the bus pulled into the station knowing that it could only accommodate 7 customers. All the clerk inside the booth had to do was to look out the window to see how many people were in line to call the driver or the central office to warn of the situation. Or better yet, to call the bus driver to see how many seats were available on the bus so she could walk outside and warn the customers in line. To make matters worse, this was the second time this has happened to me. In that line of passengers, the majority had time sensitive tickets to see Broadway matinee shows and last minute alternate plans had to be made. Several had no other means, given the last minute notice, to make such plans. Did Trans-Bridge care, obviously not. Since last Wednesday, I have called Trans-Bridge and left messages for Mark Ertel, Manager of Operations, four times. To date, he has yet to return a call. Once again, an indication of the lack of respect for people who use Trans-Bridge. My review of your operations, if you look at many of the reviews, is shared by many people. The problem? A lack of competition and as a result you do what you want and obviously decide to continue your practices rather than genuinely try to hear and understand customer complaints and improve your service. I take this bus into port authority every single day. I do not recommend in the slightest. It's expensive, the passengers are assholes whole have no regard for anyone but themselves. The drivers do not enforce their own rules that they tell you at the beginning of every journey. (Or at least that they are supposed to tell you) and departure times/gate information is rarely accurate. Not to mention their app is a goddamn nightmare to navigate. How hard is it to tell you what gate your supposed to be going to? Gate 4 on the ticket and then gate 16 in actuality. Fucking ridiculous. If there was another option that didn't have me leaving for work an hour earlier I would happily be taking it! AVOID!! This is the most terrible transportation service I have ever had the displeasure of being aboard. I waited over an hour to be picked up at Newark, on my way to Allentown PA. The bus was delayed multiple times. I was told when calling the info number that it would be 5-10 minutes late. 45 Minutes later I boarded. These delays cost me a pick up at my final destination and I had to scramble to make new arrangements. I sent a complaint, that was "never received" and eventually told " There is no issue, We got you to your destination" when I asked for a refund. This company has no regard for their reputation, or their customers time or happiness. The ticket counter had been very good until recently. Now you can!t buy ticket from a person anymore. The online system is not easy to use.you need to creat an account know exactly which bus to take. Dispatcher forced our bus to double back to a stop we had passed almost 30 minutes prior to pick up a passenger who did not board the bus because of misinformation. This delayed arrival to our destination by almost an hour. Very poor management on the part of the dispatcher. 40 angry passengers were advised to quiet down or else be kicked off the bus. I just lost. my suitcase on the Transbridge bus. It was like a fire drill in Clinton. They switched my bags at the last moment to a direct bus going into NYC. I was on the Friday 4:30 bus November 29th . I now have the wrong suitcase. They gave me an Olympia expandable suitcase filled with men's clothes. Some lucky person has my new Samsonite made in Europe lightweight carry on plus all my clothes. This would not happen if they would think ahead and not pull passengers off one bus and put them on another at the last moment. There is too much chaos with this bus line. They now take no responsibility for lost items. There is nolost and found in New York for Transbridge. If some guy who owns a Boston t shirt is reading this I have your suitcase. Often late yet yesterday the bus left 7 minutes early. I waved goodbye to my friend, headed to my car and watched a young couple get out of their car and stare at the bus leave the parking lot. Isn't it customary to wait until the actual departure time before leaving? Always have the exact change for your fare, plus some. If the office isn't open the driver will demand exact change. Somehow the technology to have a credit card option has eluded this company. I have had to ask fellow passengers for change of a $20 otherwise I'd have to pay $40 for a $33 fare. EVERY TIME I've ridden the east bound bus from Clinton in the past two months, it has been late...or it just didn't come at all. Today I waited 30 minutes in 89 degree weather in a shadeless parking lot for the 2:45pm bus which came at 3:13!!! This bus service sucks. The schedule is unrealistic. I think all the buses are broken. Last time I took the bus it got a flat on the side of the highway. I had to uber from New Jersey to NYC cause who knows how long the next bus would be with this company's reputation. Trans-Bridge provides great service. Delays will happen, often due to traffic, and it's preposterous to think that's avoidable or warranting of a refund. My only complaint is that there is insufficient parking in Clinton, but even that isn't worth taking a star away from an otherwise stellar service. Please do something about the parking in Clinton or make more runs stop at the playhouse, especially later on in the day when Clinton's lot is obviously full. You might even see an increase in ridership by making that adjustment. read more

I literally have not had a worse logistical bus experience. Was going to see a friend in allentown. Not only is it difficult to find the ticket booth (it's the tiny font under "NJ transit"), but finding the correct gate was unreal. I went from one gate that was confirmed the right gate by the regular, daily customers (because I couldn't find a staff member), to another gate because when I started boarding they told me it wasn't stopping at my stop. I did this another time then finally made the correct line. It seems that they change the gates often. Can't imagine where I would have ended up if I didn't ask a million people along the way. So tip: get there early, ask a bunch of sources for the correct route and stop. read more

I've been using this bus line to get home during breaks since I started college. They are one of the best bus services I know of. They almost always get you to your destination on time, with only a very small occurrence of being late. Whenever that happens, it is usually not the driver's fault. The drivers tend to be very nice guys. The general exception to this is on the last few runs of the evening, but given what they have to put up with, being cranky is quite forgivable. The buses themselves are very well maintained and very clean. All in all, quite possibly the best bus line I've ever been on. read more

I was furious when I got on the bus in Allentown to NYC . U would think they would be taking temperatures and only seating half of the bus tickets so people have more space DURING A PANDEMIC! i take the bus to NYC from Branchburg. When it's on time, the bus is very convenient and cuts through the Lincoln Tunnel traffic really well. It's relatively comfortable, considering its a bus. I have two per peeves, though. It always takes 10-20 minutes longer to get to my stop than it says on the schedule (in both directions). Please update the schedule to be more realistic. Also, there is a sign right on the side of the bus that says free Internet. Well, it might be free, but it totally sucks. I can never get good Internet access and I consider this to be, basically, false advertising. read more

I was sitting next to a very rude lady that was just mad because the bus was full. For starters before you blame the driver he asked us 6 times if anyone feels not safe they can exit the bus and wait 30 minutes for the next bus. She refused so her life was not in danger that much if she did not get off when she had the chance, Also I had a few words with her because she kept taking her mask off while the bus was on the highway. Wow, MISERABLE experience. Avoid at all costs. For a day trip to NYC, my partner and I paid $160 between the two of us to STAND on a packed, over-capacity, super late bus. We both paid for round trip tickets, but my partner was told by the bus driver that his was only one way, and there was nothing he could do about it, even though my partner had the receipt. If your bus is at 2, don't show up until 2:30. You'll still be incredibly early. Things are slow in these small towns and Transbridge is no difference. Don't show up on time. Don't expect a seat. This is absolutely the worst mode of transportation to and from New York City. Unfortunately my family lives in Clinton and this company has a monopoly on weekend commuting. Not only do they overcharge for their "service" but they advertise wifi and seats, both of which are nearly non-existent. How can a bus company not have seats? Well they take your ticket and punch it, and you get on the bus and walk to the back to find no seats left and they close the door before you can say anything and so you are stuck standing...or you ask for the ticket back in which thy oblige and when you go to use it the next time they advise that since it's clipped it is no longer valid. Not to mention the ticket stations have wonky hours and if you end up missing it you are forced to pay the bus driver MORE than what the ticket is worth and 99% of the time have no change. A classic example of a horrible service that couldn't care less about its customers. The online schedule is hard to read, and there have been many times when the buses simply haven't shown up. Drivers are often poorly trained--they often wait inside the bus without letting the line of people waiting outside know which bus it is and then abruptly drive away and leave everyone behind. Definitely choose Bieber or other services over Transbridge. It is much more reliable, never had a problem with them. They also make far fewer stops--much more friendly for long-distance travelers. I used the Trans-Bridge Lines bus service from the Lehigh Valley Airport to Port Authority Bus Terminal on Saturday, April 13. It was a first for me and the ticket agent at the terminal told me and another returning New Yorker to wait on the bench by the PABT sign for the 3:40 pm bus. At 4 pm we called Trans-Bridge to ask where the bus was. "Oh, he was there at 3:40 and left." But the driver did NOT stop at the PABT sign. Another driver we questioned said, "Those signs don't mean anything." We waited anther 2+ hours for the 5:45 pm back to New York. So my advice: if a bus shows up without a City destination posted -- anywhere along that stretch of benches: You better run for it, just in case! read more

I take this bus on the occasional weekend when I go to NYC to see a matinee. Ticketing is quick and easy at the Clinton Park & Ride. The bus is always on time. The weekend schedules can be a bit tricky since some busses are Saturday only, so you have to read them carefully. The drivers will take detours if there is traffic or construction. Sometimes it will arrive late anyway, but they always let you know as soon as they know. The busses themselves are very nice. Very clean. Power outlets and footrests at each seat. I bit too close together for me, but that's my only complaint. read more
