Unfortunately, their Avon location was booked out until the end of the year so I had to go to their South Windsor location. I've been having eczema flare ups and needed to get it resolved. Prior to the appointment, they sent some documents to fill out electronically. I like that because it streamlines the appointment. The building was nice and the parking was spacious. Checking in was easy. I like that they offer late appointments; my appointment was for 5:10 pm. Dr. Waqar and her assistant came in; we discussed my issues. She was thorough and knowledgeable. The appointment took about 20 minutes total. She had a prescription sent to my pharmacy and to schedule a follow-up in two weeks. This time at the Avon location which way closer to me. Overall, a good experience so far. I will review my experience at the Avon location.

This weekend I noticed a mile that was itching and bleeding and needed an appt ASAP. I called today and was told that she would no longer be taking dermatology appointments because "due to recent health conditions, Dr. Duke is closing the dermatology part of her practice." I asked out of confusion what the other half of it was, to which the receptionist replied "you know, like, Botox, juvaderm..." I'm disappointed that her priorities are misaligned and lie within the money and vanity aspect of her business rather than screening and preventing cancer. Last year they started a practice of canceling your appointment if they don't have the referral in hand a few days before. My PCP sent referrals and NE Derm kept misfiling them. It took 6 months and many many phone calls before they figured out their mistake. This year they called me the week before to say that they didn't have the referral from the PCP but I could keep my appointment if I paid $159.... Un.be.lievable. They assured me I'd get the $ back once insurance comes through. A security deposit on a medical appointment?! The Springfield office in particular is particularly bad. Every person I dealt with in the registration area was outright rude or unhelpful. But the checkout staff are the friendliest people you'll meet. The practice has just become a factory. It's more important to them to simplify the paperwork than to get patients in for care. But once you're in, they'll be lovely. Until the next appointment...

As a former social worker, and as someone who is always seeking new knowledge as a skincare provider and healer, Sara is committed to providing for her clients an experience that is both restorative and informative. My most recent facial was last week in her lovely new space! She begins your service with a brief discussion of your skincare concerns (over a cup of tea) and some recommendations for the treatment. I arrived feeling stressed, with dry skin, minor breakouts (at 41 years of age!), and congested pores. I left with hydrated, softer skin, the tension in my neck and shoulders gone (!) from the wonderful massage Sara provided while the therapeutic mask worked on my face. I did also purchase a Rejuvi (brand name) eye gel and facial moisturizer which I am quite pleased with after several days of application. Sara has a range of products available which she has personally researched and tested. She will educate you on the use and application of these products to ensure you get bang for the buck! The price points are quite reasonable. I feel quite fortunate I am able to incorporate Sara's skincare into my budget and schedule, but should be clear to note the quality of her treatments, the products used and the results are superior to more expensive spas in the area, and her approach is more personalized. When I have had a question about a product I purchased from her, or I have not been able to get in to see her, Sara is readily accessible by e-mail or a quick call to offer advice or suggestions for home care that supported my skin health and appearance until I was able to schedule another consultation and treatment.
