Having a bad case of plantar fasciitis, I made an appointment at this office based on the fact they had good online reviews, and were extremely close to my office. In hindsight, I probably should have gotten a cost estimate first, but I was desperate for relief. The office visit, with my insurance's "negotiated rate" was $150.00. That did not include any of the actual treatment I had. I saw Dr. Chinn Pusri, DPM, and he was excellent. Knowledgeable, experienced, easy to talk to, and in no time he had a treatment plan mapped out to take care of the major issue, and a couple of minor issues as well. My problem is that after two weeks, and after having a painful shot in my heel, my foot feels exactly the same as it did pre-shot. Is it possible that it just did not work? Was it not placed correctly? Do I have to pay another $150 to go back and have another shot? Or do I look elsewhere? Stay tuned.

Martina Reiss provided unnecessary stress and projected her own personal opinion at my 39 week appointment by calling me selfish for not wanting to induce my baby. After multiple rounds of testing and asking for clarity on the reasoning for the induction, she could not give me a straight forward answer. I worked tirelessly with this office to undergo 2 rounds of ultrasound and NST testing to make sure that what I was doing was the best for my baby and myself. Yet I felt like a number at the end of the day rather than given the care and empathy my baby and I deserved. I am happy to report that I was able to deliver a beautiful baby girl with no issues whatsoever but because of my interaction with Dr. Reiss, it has made consider if I even want to pursue having children in the future. If I do have the courage to do so, I will not be going through Women's Care.

My phone was probably listening to me because as soon as I found out up popped a Groupon for laser treatment at Coast2Coast podiatry in Lakeland which is about an hour away from me. I am so glad I made the trip and bought the Groupon. Scheduling was a breeze, the only available on Friday, and the doctor was super nice and funny. He didn't make me feel dreadful, was really good about zapping away, and I did purchase the topical and shoe spray for the additional $50 total. He told me that I was going to have more problems because of wearing heels and with the aging process. However I did not have any problems up to this point, just the callous under my skin. When it went to the insurance company they denied the claim because of the codes chosen which were not corrected. Two weeks later I end up with another callous in the same spot under my skin on the same foot. My insurance company and my coworkers suggested I go to another podiatrist, which worked out better. The new Doctor removed the object under my skin and she did not agree with everything Doctor Patel told me. She agreed that I did have hammertoe which I knew but it was more likely hereditary, which it was. As a matter of fact the new doctor said to wear a heel because sandals can be bad for my arches/feet which I can confirm this because another podiatrist from my home state said the same thing. After seeing the last podiatrist, I still not experiencing any problems.
