I'll take Door #2 please! As you walk in, you will begin to see this store should probably be in Salem, MA and not randomly in the mountains, but that's a good thing. OK, I've looked around several rooms of this museum like Halloween store but it's now time to head over for the real show... But first, take a peek to your right. Do you love epic scenery? The food, drinks, atmosphere, and especially the people make this place something special. On our latest visit, I started with a "Toasted" bourbon cocktail, complete with perfectly toasted marshmallows, that was absolutely killer. We shared the peach and burrata appetizer, which was an amazing combination of flavors. For dinner, we enjoyed the pesto chicken and vegetable pasta and the Bolognese. Every single dish was outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Adding to the experience was a talented solo musician playing some fantastic coffeehouse-style tunes last Friday evening. The music was the perfect complement to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. What really sets Sap House apart, though, is the staff. Everyone we've interacted with has been incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable--not only about the food they're serving but also about the impressive variety of meads they produce and sell. You can tell they genuinely enjoy sharing what they do. If you're visiting the Mount Washington Valley or you're a local who hasn't checked this place out yet, do yourself a favor and stop in. The manager came out and told his staff to accept no more orders, including the one that was currently in process. He would not let us finish our order, even with encouragement from his employees.
