Drove out to TrailsPlus in Bakersfield from San Luis Obispo and purchased a brand new 6x12 enclosed trailer late October, had a relatively good buying experience (salesman were kind enough). After leaving the lot and hitting the highway heading home to SLO, I realized looking into my mirrors that the lighting on one side of the trailer was out. It beginning to get dark, I pulled aside and called TrailersPlus. My salesman Mark informed me it was probably a fuse, so I checked my panels. Sure enough, one was blown. I replaced it and continued on. About 15 minutes later, I noticed half of the lights were out again.... I pulled over, and immediately checked the previously blown fuse. It was fine. I called Mark at TrailersPlus again, and he informed me there would be a separate fuse panel for trailer specific fuses. Looked everywhere to no avail. I called San Luis Obispo Toyota, as they'd be closing soon and who'd know better than they of the whereabouts for components on my 2017 Tacoma. They told me there isn't one, the previously blown fuse would be the go-to. Okay... So now I call TrailersPlus back, there's claim that it must be my vehicle, it's not their trailer. So, I called Toyota back to set up a time the following morning to bring my truck in the have it inspected. Cool. Done. Now to drive the remainder of the way home to San Luis Obispo from Lost Hills in pitch black darkness, half of the trailer lights working and a paranoia a ticket is surely to hit. Time passes, I come into Paso Robles, great I'm almost there! I get to the stop light to catch the 101 SB from the 46 East, and in the 3 minutes I sat at the stop light.... All the lighting on the trailer shot out. Greeeeat. At this point, I hit %#$@-it, TrailersPlus closed very shortly after my last call to them and so did Toyota, I was on my own to get home and I finally did. So the following day I take my truck into Toyota, $110 later just for digging around and ensuring all was fine, which it was I was now certain the problems lied within the electrical of the trailer itself. I called TrailersPlus back and after a LOT of troublesome back and forth had them agree to allow me to take the trailer to a local trailer shop for an ESTIMATE on repairs as there was no way I was driving it back to Bakersfield without lights. So, I get an estimate for the wiring short in my BRAND NEW trailer, again, ESTIMATE (the definition of the word is quite simple...). I shoot it to TrailersPlus to which required more tiresome back and forth as they apparently had to work with the "warranty" company to see if it'd be acceptable. Finally got the Okay to proceed. Took the trailer to the local shop in Paso Robles and received a call about 6 hours later that it was ready to be picked up. Upon picking up my trailer, I received a bill for nearly twice the amount of the estimate due to apparently rerouting one entire side and re-grounding many points and replacing an LED lamp. I didn't buy this trailer to sit around for weeks on end trying to figure out who was going to right this BIG wrong, so I paid it. After paying it I forwarded the final invoice to Mark, of which he responded to by phone rather quickly saying that the cost was outrageous and that it was not the cost of the ESTIMATE (again, the definition of estimate... "TO ROUGHLY CALCULATE"). Of course it wasn't, the final invoice is not going to match an initial "estimate" 9/10 times. So, it took about a month for me to get contact from TrailersPlus again regarding a check that the warranty company would be sending me to cover my out of pocket costs on my BRAND NEW trailer. Mark gets back to me, and assures me a check is in the mail as of that day (yesterday). Today, I received a check in the mail. It was for the initial "estimate" amount. Half of what I paid OUT OF POCKET. Based off of my experience here, I'd simply say be careful and if you're coming from out of town, just shop locally. read more

Great service and knowledgeable staff. Bought a utility trailer from them on Tuesday. The manager (Tate) did a fantastic job and had me in and out very quickly. The Assistant Manager also was awesome. He did a complete inspection of the trailer with me and explained some of the things I should keep an eye on in the future. Overall a great experience, I would recommend this lot to others. read more
