I called to see if Brock's could build me a safety cooling trailer. My funding source is grant related so I need to obtain 3 quotes in order to proceed. We must go with the lowest quote unless we can provide substantial evidence as to why we're not; however, we didn't even get to that point. I spoke with who I'm assuming was the owner and he told me to send an email to Amanda with the specifications I was looking for.
I itemized everything out and even provided part numbers of various items I specifically wanted on the trailer so I made sure we were comparing apples to apples. About an hour later I received correspondence from Amanda stating that "the owner is not interested in this job". Wow! It must be nice to have such a thriving business that you don't need anymore. It's either that or that they would rather not do business with a Hispanic serving institution? Either way, I'll be happy to spread the word that Brock's is so busy that they do not need anymore business.
BTW, this is not the first time I've called Brock's about something. I've called before with other questions about trailers and whether or not they can repair or have parts. Carson F. is correct when he says they are rude and that it feels as if you are severely inconveniencing them. Not only would they not fix/sell parts for my trailer, but had no suggestions as to where I might go to find help. Someone that's been in the business for as long as them should know by now how to treat a customer.
I'm sorry, but as a business owner myself, there are plenty of times I've shown my event venue and go over all the amenities, sometimes for hours putting together quotes for packages, etc., just to have someone book with another venue. Is it discouraging, yes; however, it's the business you are in and it comes with the territory. You should be in business to help people because a little human kindness will go a long way!
If you're that bitter and can't be cordial to people, that speaks testament to your character and ultimately to what kind of service you'll provide to people who can brave your arrogant personality. I would say good luck to you; however, it would be a lie. There's no place in the world for people/businesses like this, so if you're that bitter, just hang it up and do the surrounding community a favor.
Just as Carson F. wrote, everyone has had the same experience with this company. I just don't know how they remain in business? read more
