The room was very clean. It was spacious and comfortable. The beds and pillow were good. It has a mini fridge with a separate freezer compartment which I really like for freezing water bottles for our cooler. You get to park right outside your door, love that because we pack a lot of stuff. The bathroom and sink area looked recently updated, beautiful tile. The sink area was outside of the shower and toilet room. So nice for putting on makeup while hubby is in the shower. Also, the price was way cheaper than any other place in town. Here are the cons, there were no outlets in the sink area. Could easily be added by running conduit on the wall surface down from the light. But there was an extra mirror and shelf in the bedroom area, that helped. The only other note is that the ceiling definitely needed fixing. There were loose ceiling tiles that looked like they had water damage. We could live with it but it sure ruined the look of the room, but not the function. There was some traffic noise, but we were in a room very close to the highway. Didn't bother us much. All in all it's a very nice place to stay!

The state park is located near the town of Glendo, about 20 miles (32 km) southeast of the city of Douglas. The park is managed by the Wyoming Division of State Parks and Historic Sites." (Taken from Wikipedia) Those are the main brush strokes. Ton of land out here for all your recreational needs. Boating, hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, tanning, biking, or just wanting to be away from civilization? This is your spot! We only stayed for two days but I would certainly come back for an entire week to see and do more. Our group of four included three dogs and the views and campsites were very spacious. Probably the best scenic aspect other than the nearby Dam overlook was the beach. From volleyball to swimming, rafting, and lounging it was such a departure from the Wyoming highway. A secret little oasis in a shaded grove spreading out to a sandy private of private beach. They even have camping in this edge of the park with RV spots and some prefab housing. Easy to get here directly off I-25 and from Denver or Cheyenne it's an easy drive in the 2-4 hour range. You'll pass some fun state park adjacent concessions on your way in. Grocery, liquor, ice cream and burgers. Don't see why you wouldn't want to stay on site but If you extend your stay abs need more peanut butter or ice it's available within ten minutes. The railroad runs through adjacent to the park so that may be an annoyance for some. Camping or RV spots away from the rail exist but only in a few spots. If this will take you away from your recharging in nature zen check the map carefully and book an appropriate site. Otherwise I'd give this location high praise. Great for veterans as well as casual or entry level camping. Car camp, tent camp, RV and enjoy yourself!

We drove through all of the campgrounds and they were all pretty nice. My son had fun fishing from the shore on the rain, although he didn't catch anything.
