Apple Jax Chagrin Falls moved to this Peninsula location. It's a larger store with more expansive inventory. It's located in a house-looking building, which makes it more homey. It's definitely a more cozy vibe than Lakewood or Tower City Pop-up locations. Big kid at heart, I wandered into the store during a local festival. The store impressed me with a wide selection. You probably won't find these toys at big box retailers. They had nostalgic toys, table games, plush toys, magazines, and more. Check their social media for more information about the selection. The merchandise was suitable for all ages. Adults and children actively and excitedly interacted with the toys during my visit. So fun to see! If you're a collector looking for action figures, this is the place to be. There are large glass shelves with extensive choices. I was most impressed with Giga Pets (like tamagotchi), how nostalgic! Good size though. They have a corn maze and such. Corn maze is not free. They have hot dogs, ice cream and corn on the cob to eat. They have glider picnic tables arranged around. It's very family friendly. But after 30 mins you can spend $60 easy. They sell bread and bakery from local places. Loaf of fresh bread is around $7. Inside they have a ton of different fruits and veggies as well as jams and Amish treats. Fruits and veggies can be pricey. We got some lettuce, 3 tomatoes, 2 potatoes, green beans, 1 onion, bread, cost us $41. We could have gotten more but that was enough to spend. Bottom line. Good quality. Good selection. But you're going to pay for it. We like Szalays and will go back. Just be aware of what you can afford.

Their selection is pretty good as far as things go. They have the standard kitchy garden items, along with a lot of potted plants. You'll also find baby trees if you're keen on planting one, as well as seedlings. I'll admit I haven't always had the greatest service here, some of the staff are great in making recommendations, while others make me wonder why they even work at a garden store. I've purchased several plants here though and all of them have been quite hardy. One in particular, a lime plant, has thrived despite the fact that I kill plants on the regular. Finally, I love their seasonal decorations. They usually mix it up dependent on the season, and I can pretty much always guarantee they will have what I'm looking for, whether it's hanging spring flower baskets, summer herb seedlings, or pumpkins and hay bales.

It was so nice to talk to a real person in an actual flower shop. Sunshine Flowers is a small, locally owned florist, and they do beautiful work. Hanna took the time to explain my choices regarding flowers and the extra little touches like adding a beautiful inscribed ribbon. My funeral flowers were absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend them!
