Their food to die for. Couple that with the wonderful family that owns it and you have a winner.

This market is in Chiloquin with a large portion of the people here are Native American as am I. We have patronized this store many times in the 12 years we have resided here. They take advantage of people needing things and a trip to town is a 60+ mile round trip. Milk was sold for upwards of $5 and most grocery items are 30-50% more expensive than in town. I read a review from a customer who praised their 'deli'. It is a complete fabrication. They have a very old 'cold case' where they display grayish meat and cheese that is almost triple the price of other grocers. Unfortunately, this establishment employs unabashed racists. My son and I were on a walk and decided to stop there to get a snack. As we entered Clyde's there was a young woman checking out. She was talking to two older women. One was the cashier and the other was stocking shelves. So all three were talking jovially. The young woman concluded her transaction and left. As soon as the door shut, the two began talking about what a screw-up the woman was and talking about how they thought she was breaking her parole etc. There is no excuse for this Anywhere, let alone in a market with a child present. My family members still go there but after the last time, I will never go there again.

Inside this run down little store you will find the best old school deli in the back." We, Chiloquin Tourism Action Team, want to change this. You are right in so many ways. Would you like to join our team on January 22nd at 5pm at the Community Center. It will really give you hope for our community if you go and see what is going on behind the scenes. Then, eventually, maybe we can do away with negative statements like this on our websites. (not that I blame you; I understand) Judy Pate 541-783-2428 (call me from a cellphone for more info)" Thanks for being a positive part of Chiloquin. I know working any business is a lot of work and you are appreciated! Keep up the great work Rod and team!

This place is right on the NW corner of an intersection.. probably the main intersection in town :D I stayed at Lone Mountain RV Park, which is right behind this Country Store. We needed change for the showers so we ran up to this store and even though they weren't open yet for another hour, the people kindly gave us change. We dropped by after packing up our campground for tea on the way out of town. They were making homemade cookies fresh out of the oven and I couldn't resist buying one, it smelled SOO GOOD in there. I got chocolate chip, which just finished baking, she was making peanut butter and oatmeal chocolate chip later on. I would have bought one of each I think if they were ready! Damage for the Two Leaves and a Bud tea and gigantic fresh cookie : a whopping $1.75! This would have been $5 back in Victoria. Just one of the reasons I love Oregon. Oh yeah, the cookie didn't let me down.. crispy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside. Perfect.

On one visit, a clerk refused to sell me hot food from a full display case simply because he didn't want to go grab it, telling me to come back tomorrow. On a follow-up visit, I reconnected with an old friend on the side of the porch. Two deli staff members came outside to chain-smoke right by the front door--well within 5 feet--and rudely ordered us to stop "congregating." When I mentioned that the secondhand smoke was bothering me, I was told I was "causing problems." This store is dingy, overpriced, and managed by an unhelpful staff with zero customer service skills. I won't be returning and will be advising locals to shop elsewhere.
