For the past few months my family has been looking for a home in Markham, Ontario and although my experience with the majority of agents selling houses has been positive, the only two negative experiences that were negative were with Harry and Sara. On March 30th 2024, their company, with signs plastered up and down the Mount Joy area of Markham advertised an open house, and on numerous real estate sites advertised a specific house on Williamson Road having an open house. Since this was on a weekend, my wife and I had to hire a sitter to watch the offspring while we made our way to this open house. We were one of numerous cars waiting outside knocking, we saw a few families frustratingly tell us there doesn't seem to be anyone home and they headed out. We called the number on the phone, Harry answered and explained he was sick and couldn't make it, I asked if that meant the open house was cancelled and yes said, yes, cancelled, and he claimed it should have been taken off the site, when I explained he wasn't he just said he is sick and cannot make it in. People are human, I understand sick days happen but in order to not waste people's time and money he should have made sure all sites (and all physical signs) were taken off. Fast forward to this weekend. Originally earlier in the week, a specific house on Tilman in Markham, Ontario was advertised as having an open house on both April 20 and April 21. When our agent called to confirm, he was specifically told there was no open house on Saturday April 20th but there would be an open house on Sunday April 21st. We again booked a sitter and on Sunday April 21st headed over. As we approached, we saw numerous signs with Harry and Sara's faces and we joked it would be cancelled. Once again, as we approached we saw people knocking on the door and leaving. We tried to open the door and it was locked, we called and Harry answered. His first response was he forgot and would be there in 30 minutes, I said okay and we waited. About 10 minutes later he phoned me and asked if I was "actually waiting" and I said yes, and then he said "can't make it now, daughter is sick, have to stay home, open house is cancelled". We asked if anyone would eventually come and he said no, but did say "sorry you couldnt make it to the open house yesterday, you should have come than!", we explained our agent told us there was no open house yesterday. He confirmed there was. A short while later our agent called, and confirmed what he (our agent) was originally told - there was no open house on Saturday. I am not sure what games these agents are playing, but I will most certainly not be bidding on any houses being represented by Anjia Realty. They waste people's time and money with their unprofessional lies.
