And once the rains started we accrued significant damage and cost to both the outside and the inside of our home including mold damage and total inside ceiling needing repair now (Pix included). The owner told us yesterday in person that they would fix it. Now today he writes saying that he won't. Sadly this is just really bad business and very costly mistakes on their part that is left for us to pick up their improper work. I warn anyone to look around for other options and businesses before moving ahead with Rougue Valley Roofing. They do not stand behind their work and they do not behave professionally. What a mess. My husband and I hired Steve last October to knock out the back wall of our master bedroom and…read moreinstall tall custom-made French doors as well as Spanish tile floors with in-floor radiant heat in the master bathroom and bedroom. One of the things Steve promised was to keep us regularly statused with clear communication. THAT was a false promise on his part. He seldom communicated clearly and did not keep us statused. As the project continued over the next 7 months to the present day, it became apparent that Steve is not planful and does not understand project management. The first -- and best -- thing that happened was he hired Joe McKuen (arguably the best tile guy in the Rogue Valley) to install the radiant heat and Spanish tiles that we had already purchased. Joe did a flawless job in the first two weeks. Very impressive. Understandably, the custom-made French doors and glass panels took overlong to be fabricated due to supply chain and Covid issues. When we asked, we got an update from Steve but he certainly didn't keep us in the loop. Finally, in the middle of winter Steve said he was going to take out the back wall and install the French doors and sliding screens. That occurred over about a week or so in late February. He, his father (a very experienced framer), and the owner of the door fabrication company with two of his employees finally installed the doors EXCEPT for the screen doors. It turned out Steve had never placed the order for the screened doors. According to Steve, the price of the screened doors had doubled in the intervening months. He decided he wanted to find a different vendor although I said we'd pick up the cost difference. We're still waiting for the screened doors and for the paint stains to be power-washed off the brick patio. Steve hasn't returned our calls in over a month. We have no idea if he finally placed an order for screened doors -- or if he intends to finish the job. It appears that after he got his last check from us, he just walked off the job and doesn't intend to complete it. Steve projected that this job would be completed by late December at the latest. It is almost the beginning of May and has not been completed so far. Based on this behavior on his part, we do NOT recommend him or the company he owns, Rivercross Construction.
