When my grandmother suggested we go here because they carry dresses she likes, I knew my chances of…read morefalling in love with something were slim. For the most part, I was right, this was way over my head. Partially because I now live in North Carolina and I'd stick out on the sidewalk, partially because I guess I'm just not old enough to appreciate the style. But enter the rack of Mexican dresses (funny how I hated being made to wear them as a child but I adore them now). Beautiful, just beautiful, but pricey. They had them from many different regions but I've been favoring the heavily (all-over) embroidered dresses lately and after seeing the prices for one here ($270) I wanted to kick myself for not buying one at the beach at A Mano ($195). Same colors, extremely similar pattern, but I guess Pilar has higher rent to pay? The rest of the store carried flowy embroidered pieces, matching two piece sets, beautiful jewelry, Mexican trinkets, belts, shawls, accessories, and more. The women working were extremely nice, and of course I left with items in hand (minus the dress), but it probably won't be my first shop to return to when in town.

They always have an amazing selection at reasonable prices and you never know what surprises you are going to find. Since I was traveling, they packed up my crystal so it would not get damaged on the trip home. Was very happy with my purchase and proudly display my crystal piece at home. It has received a lot of compliments. This is a fun shop with great people to explore and find new crystals and other magical gifts.

It's not often that I'd write a bad review of a small business. Normally I'd keep it quiet and hope…read morethey do better with the next customer, because they are vital to the community. But I'm so disappointed with this place and could easily see it happening to someone else, so I'm sharing. We received some fancy outfits for our baby twins. The clothes were a little too small when we received them, but the receipt was included, so I brought them to exchange. There were no larger sizes, so I was offered a store credit of about $120. I accepted the credit but did not receive anything like a paper or a gift card. I asked if I could have some record, but the clerk assured me that the information would be stored "in the system." With them unable to provide another option, I agreed. I next came back nearly a year later (having twin babies makes it very hard to get out shopping beyond necessities), checked in with the clerk, and was assured my credit was still there. Yet after looking around for toddler holiday outfits, I didn't find anything that fit the bill. I thanked the clerk and said I'd try another time. I came to the store again this week and decided I'd put some of the credit toward a Mother's Day gift. The clerk looked me up and I was not in their system. I told her this would have been from about three years ago, and she scoffed back: "We clear our system every YEAR." Ok. It's reasonable to have an expiration date on a store credit, and that would have been fine, EXCEPT that no one I ever dealt with ever mentioned this verbally or could give me anything in writing describing the terms of the store credit. Including when I had them look me up the following year and it would have been just about to expire - no warning then, either. So just like that, there goes $120. If the situation were reversed and I had stolen $120 from them, the police would be called. But when they steal from me, they can scoff at me for ignorance of their unwritten rules. Corpus Christi, we can do better than this place. There are plenty of locally-owned boutiques more worthy of business.

That's not what your commercials say. Y'all make it sound like you'd have the parts we need but when it came down to it we were told those would be here Monday. But we can't give you a cost because the prices change so often. We ended up getting a price at the end of all this back and forth about sizes etc. it's about 30 dollars higher than other vendors. Then we proceeded with the rest of our items to check out and the assistant manager was fidgety pacing while the other lady put the filter away. She then went back to her and said they want the filter. NO we said we would return at a later date for the grille and filter yet she almost tried to force the sale. I just didn't like her style or personality. It was a hard clash. and her inability to help. We will NEVER go back. Totally frustrating experience
