It was located in a complex with other stores such as Cost Plus. The Nordstrom Rack interior was modern, clean and organized. A lot of square footage too. It had a large inventory. Not sure if this was the norm or just caught them on a good day after restocking. Hubs left empty handed. But not me. I scored. Bought a few Caslon brand tops at bargain prices. And we hopped back onto Highway 101. By the way, the shopping complex is across the street from the iconic Madonna Inn. A

If they don't stand behind their product and you used your credit card, go right to the credit card company! Horrible value for only lasting a couple wears. If you are looking for cheaper jewelry, TJ Maxx is a much better solution and lasts much longer!

I have had a love-hate relationship with Anthropologie, ever since I first discovered the store…read more The creativity of the displays is always a fascinating draw, which lures me in to look at the merchandise, much of which is beautifully decorative yet functional. I love the patterns and design of their clothing and home goods, but sometimes the construction of the garments or the detail of the ceramics make then less than useful. The size consistency across their brands is also a bit challenging, so either reading the online reviews of clothing, or trying it on in person is a must. I do love most of products I have gotten at the stores, but I always feel that I need to critically appraise each item before I buy it. The SLO store is smaller than the other two "neighborhood" stores in Santa Barbara and Carmel, and the merchandise seems to be geared more toward a college crowd. Since half the populace here is in college, this may be appropriate. My recent visit turned up some denim togs suitable for students, and some brightly colored small housewares. I will continue to cruise through here in search of good design!

It may (or may not) be here in any given Sunday. Sellers pay $25 to get in (unless selling produce; they pay more) and start their day when gates open to them at 5 a.m. for setup. Pickers arrive super early to try to snag deals for resale online or elsewhere in the market. Watch out for those trying to strike bargains that really can be a disservice to sellers. Know your worth unless you really don't care and just want to clean out your overstock. Buyers pay a buck to walk in. Great deal! As a seller, this place is kind of a drag because most buyers really don't want to pay anywhere near what your stuff is worth. If you need to make some money and have the time and access, sell through Craigslist or other service. That's what your buyers here will do with the stuff you sold them too cheaply.

Everything is nicely stacked and hung every time I come in, and I come in a LOT, so honestly I'm always impressed that they keep up with recovery so well considering the amount of foot traffic and shipment they get every day. Alright, on to the part where I address the workers themselves. I'll say right now and I'll always stand by this; Anyone saying the employees are rude are literally projecting, I do NOT play about these girls. IGNORE the hateful comments about the workers. I work downtown and have been coming here since they first opened. I've gotten to know many of them over time and I appreciate them all so much. I've been to many Brandy locations and first started shopping at the company around 2017. The girls at this particular store are genuinely the sweetest people and have never given me any reason to believe any of them are mean. I would encourage anyone coming here to have an open heart and just engage with the girls here :) Every time I come in they say hi, ask me how I'm doing, I do the same, and we talk about our day. I work in retail, myself, and I can tell you it's actually really nice to go into another really popular clothing store and not be bombarded with employees who are forced to give pushy customer service. Brandy just isn't and has never been a super corporate environment like that, anyway, which I know can be a change of pace from what most of us are used to, but honestly if you take a chance and just TALK to these girls you'd see that they're super friendly, hard working, and laid back people. Workers are not robots and women are NOT NASTY just because you don't perceive them to be the most perfect human beings. They juggle college on top of long shifts and other jobs, like many workers and students have to do. Don't pass judgement so easily. Anyway! 10/10 store 10/10 employees. The prices were fair, especially for the special finds. Btw, in the back, they have more racks, but because of the layout of the store, it seems like it's an employees only section--not the case, e.g. I saw a long sleeve super cool tomato red T-shirt back there.
