Ocean Springs recently gets a Tractor Supply, and while the cashiers and staff are outstanding, the assistant manager is JUST NOT --I think his name is Jay. Seriously, I have been three times, and he has been rude, disinterested in helping and overall grumpy. Certainly needs to learn about customer service, but more than that, he needs to LISTEN. Even the cashier knew he was not answering my questions.
Tractor Supply purports to Price Match, but they make it impossible. I showed my receipt from T&N Feed which I would still go to (I LOVE THE STORE, OWNERS & STAFF --all family operated) but I can't get there before they close. TS stays open later, THE ONLY THING I CAN POSITIVELY SAY about the Corp. Even PetSense at Edgewater Plaza price matches, and every single one of their staff and managers alike make it delightful to shop there. They, themselves, know the current pricing of their competitors which is what Tractor Supply's management needs to do if they aren't going to take a receipt or bother to call and verify themselves. I can't help if T&N doesn't list the item on their receipts, but to assume the customer is being dishonest or fretting over it like I have asked him to go out of his way instead of simply doing his dang job, that would itself be an improvement. Totally unacceptable, really. After remaining painfully patient and respectful even though the same courtesy was NOT accorded to me by him, he then tells me I have to show current receipts too, if I want to pricematch. Now, I showed him my receipt when I first went several weeks earlier, what am I supposed to do, go every other week back to the other store I have stopped going to because HE IS SO LAZY TO DO HIS JOB? Seriously will drive all the way to Edgewater just to avoid having to deal with that man as PetSense stays open till 9, one hour later than even Tractor Supply. Or I will change my volunteer schedule on Sat. so I can make it to T& N that day JUST TO AVOID TS--more specifically, that horrible assistant manager. The absolute very first time I went to this store in OS, the very same manager was equally unhelpful when I paid on-line prior to arriving. I did this because I was in a rush, and I didn't want to search the store. This was a feature I thought I would love, but I ended up waiting thirty minutes because he was clueless. The employee who loaded my bags of dog food was wonderful, as was the cashier (mind you I asked about price matching that day too, but this manager said no b/c I had already paid.) we are talking about 9 dollars a bag, and I had 4 bags so I wasn't asking about a minimal amount. Even if I was, it shouldn't have mattered. I will try one last time, but that's it. The last time I was there, the cashier even told me that she knew the price was 41.99 for Taste of the Wild at T&N, as I had shared and shown the manager, BECAUSE SHE SAID OTHER CUSTOMERS HAD COME IN AND QUOTED THE SAME PRICE. So, I can only assume, the guy is lazy or foolishly thinks he is doing a good job for TS by not allowing price matching. Nothing is further from the truth because they will lose customers. Just awful-- all three times I have been to this TS. read more
