First, it is a restored downtown main street type building with an upper and lower floor. There is a beautiful fountain that is underneath the staircase in one of the windows and in front of the other window is a special seating area which must be for one of the owners dogs. The downstairs has almost wall to wall aquariums with goldfish and other type pets and supplies. The upstairs has everything from special cards for every occasion with pets on it to special glamorous doggie collars to even artwork with pets. We have show dogs and sometimes treat the dogs with a hard bone to chew on. There are a number of places that sell the whit bones sometimes slathered with gravy and the dogs love them. They are very hard and safe for dogs. But PSP has a similar bone that seems to disintegrate and splinter. These bone shards could become lodged in a dogs throat or puncture the stomach or intestines causing bleeding or worse. The pieces end up looking something like splintered chicken bones although these are beef. Seems to me they coul be very dangerous to dogs. I am sure no one wants anything bad to happen to their dog so I would highly recommend not buying this type of bone. The employees didn't seem to care and just stood and stared when we tried to persuade them to pull the bones from the shelves. They seemed rather disinterested in fact and offered no apology for the product. So this is a bad experience from a store I used to like. I hope no one loses a dog because of a splintered bone in the throat.

The first thing that I noticed was the big, electronic, LED signage. Not something that I usually think of when I think of garden or pet supplies. I thought that it was a little strange that they used their new, flashy billboard to express their love of Jesus instead of selling pet supplies or gardening goods. As soon as we set foot on the property we were immediately aware of the lurking employee in our vicinity. I would have used the word "salesman" or "customer service", but he never greeted us or offered us assistance. He just followed us around in a creepy way as if he was sure we were going to shoplift potted perennial plants. The second thing that really hit me about this supposed garden center was the dead and dying plants all over. You would think that the "sales staff" in a newly opened business, with very few customers would have the time to remove the dead plants from the sales floor. All in all, I was left with a very poor impression of this new business.
