November of 2022, my wife and I bought a brand new tractor from Modern Tractor. We were very…read moreexcited about it (this was after me going in 3 times as well and having to call corporate because I couldn't get their salesman to even come down and talk to me. Once we had a pre- qualifide loan he was there though) and everything was good for a little while. We noticed when it was delivered we did not receive part of our initial order. We called their sales man and he realized he never ordered the part correctly and it was tied into our financing so we only had half of the part. His remedy was offering us a used one at a retail price. The machine then went back to the dealer a few weeks later for a part to be installed we ordered with the initial package. It was welded on (i now find out from another dealership its at now, that is not how it was to be installed) by what looks like Ray Charles on a New York subway and spray painted. So yes, my bran new machine was welded on, and spray painted, but it gets better..... They performed its 50 hour service at the time as well. When they brought it back they said "It may have a leak or two, if it does just let us know". Well it did. From every hose they touched on the passenger side, and the sleeve covering the hoses all torn up. Shortly after we had an issue with the bucket pistons bending and the took in in on warranty work, Still the machine came back once again leaking everywhere. NOW we arrive at the big issue, part of the package deal was a Southern brush cutter. When we sat down with the salesman we told him everything we had going on at our property to make sure this machine was going to be a good fit. to include a land clearing project. I needed a brush cutter for clearing, one that would handle 3" material. what he ended up selling me was not only to small for my tractor, but only rated to cut 1.5" material. I was using it for maybe the 4th time in late 2023 and it destroyed it self in 2-3" material, almost sending the blades through itself causing damage to the cutter, my machine and myself. after talking to Southern, Whites Tractor in Burgaw (where my machine is now being fixed because of them) and going back and forth with Modern tractor, this was rated for a 45hp gear box, mine is 55 hp, and rated for 1.5" material and the salesman was still convinced it was 3" even after Southern told him otherwise. Whites Tractor told me they were in the complete wrong series of tractor size. I needed to be in the 65-90 hp rating cutters and they gave me one for the 25-45 hp tractor size and I'm lucky to be alive. I was a career tech before i enlisted in the USMC, I have never in my life heard a service manager say " I wish they would shut down already, I cant keep up with my own work here. I get so muck work from them screwing thing up they're over loading us". This shop was a 1.5 hour drive for me, I can only imagine how bad it is for others and I"m only hauling a 5 ton machine. I tried my best to resolve these issues with the salesman. He blew me off for months. They made me drive an hour out to their store just to get the owners business card, it had all the stores info on it! not even his email! once i tracked him down all they would say is " well it has damage so that's the cause of it twisting up". well of course it does, your sales man doesn't know what he's selling, so when i try to use it for what i have purchased it for, needed it for, confirmed with him what it was for and needed it for, that's why its damaged. sleazy that's all. They forced me to pull an insurance claim to fix it, and said " we already did warranty work for you once...." Warranty is much different than selling people the completely wrong products and not owning up to it. Like i mentioned before. I'm a local farmer and business owner. that means i work with alot of the same. I was turned onto Whites but other farmers. People that live within 10 miles of Modern Tractor that are willing to make an hour drive to buy their pins, oil, and $100,000+ tractors is an absolute embarrassment not only to Modern Tractor, but the salesman, but also Richlands community.

The ladies who work in the office seem nice until you sign the paperwork and drive off with the car. The transmission messed up 2 days after buying the car, it took them 3 weeks to get the car back to me, (in the meantime i purchased a second car to get to work) and after paying half of the rebuild because they don't stand behind their vehicles I added another grand to my loan. Not to mention when they gave me back the car MY HOOD LATCH WAS BROKEN! NO SURPRISE. This was January I believe* by March (hadn't owned the car 3 months!) the motor gave out at 135k and of course without a warranty the cost AGAIN was out of my pocket. All in all, the car was costing me 9k for a 2002 Civic so after 2 years I gave them back the car and said f*** that shit and f*** their company. I haven't referred anyone to them and I've proudly stopped more than a couple of people from shopping with them. You've been warned!

I live in Maryland. the delivery driver was on time, actually 10 minutes early, very polite, professional and helpful. He took the time to show me around the machine(TYM234). True southern hospitality. No pressure to "buy from me".
