Warning to anyone adopting a puppy( Parvo alert):…read more As many of you know I recently contracted to adopt a rescue puppy! Before anyone attempts to JUDGE or scold me for posting and possibly hurt anyone or their business, I have been in constant contact and discussion with everyone named! So either read on with an open mind or keep scrolling as keyboard tough guys will not be tolerated! I contracted after a ridiculous 3 month search with the Enid Oklahoma SPCA for a 9 week old German Shepherd. Enid SPCA transports 24-40 dogs monthly to New England. I am a savant at investigation, and they had more positive than negative., so yes I did my homework. We paid for a beautiful Great Pyrenees that was 8 weeks and would be available in 3 weeks. I paid in full. The morning before transport I had 3 urgent calls, texts, etc from Linda their program manager who while on speakerphone with my stepdaughter and wife as we were very excited....that the puppy apparently had a growth or abscess that grew undetected almost overnight and died that morning!! Huh? Is that a sick joke? Nope, the poor thing died of cancer or something?!?! According to the "story" from Linda. Initially Enidspca was awesome and immediately refunded the adoption fee. I talked to my girls and we asked Linda if she had another healthy option, as we trusted them and thought poor Athena was a fluke! Yes, unfortunately Arius named her in the Greek tradition of our dogs and became attached and desperately waited for updates and pictures. I immediately was offered a beautiful German Shepherd that Linda said was her sister's litter that couldn't take care of her and both parents were GS's! What a blessing! The manager is getting us a puppy she can vouch for from her sister! The day of transport from Oklahoma to Rhode Island, Linda called and said they had to drop our puppy's sister in Indiana as she was sick in transport and they were worried it was Parvo. Linda called and explained the situation, she proceeded to stipulate that our Tula( Big Fat Greek Wedding) was fine, eating and was energetic etc. After the pain of losing her predecessor Athena, we took the opinion of the health of Tula and decided to trust Linda that she was fine and made sure we picked her up Saturday 2/27 in Rhodie. Monday 3/1 at 3pm Tula went from a happy and energetic puppy to extreme diarrhea and vomiting. We immediately took her to the animal hospital where she was diagnosed with Parvo. Here's the kicker that should keep the Keyboard Cowboys happy. I talked to Linda multiple times, she not only never said that tula's sister had several days later had Parvo, but she completely lied about the Great Pyrenees which THE DIRECTOR OF ENID SPCA, Vickie Grantz told me Athena absolutely died of Parvo. I engaged Vickie the Director of Enidspca who knew the conversations behind the scenes. Vickie also seemed mortified that Linda lied about Athena the Pyrenees dying of a growth or tumor. I did try to get them to help with the $3350 this has already cost for a puppy that deserves better than Enidspca. They refunded me the $500 adoption fee and the local lady Lorena Lanza gave us $200 of what she claimed was her own money. Vickie from Enidspca said she submitted $300 for reimbursement. These are FACTS!!!! I have asked Vickie Grantz to do the right thing and help us financially as it's the right thing to do. I offered a $1000 settlement to just make her own up to the collusion of her staff and volunteers to transport 12-15 plus SICK OR DYING DOGS, to our state for illegal resale! My opinion is that If you see a pattern here, I would love to have you call or message me before anyone puts their kids, emotions, finances and heart on the line and adopt a dog from Enid SPCA of Oklahoma or Lorena Lanza locally. If you read all of this, I apologize for the lengthy details. I'm a good man that really loved and trusted these people. I waited a week to post this after....Tula has luckily fully recovered due to the 24 hour care of Arius

The organization does great work for animals in our community. It also has a groomer connected…read morewith it that is the ONLY groomer that I trust with my dogs - because my dogs actually want to go there and see her! Call Susan at the SPCA to get your dog groomed!

Cute shop! I don't have a dog, but my parents have a cute, spoiled little thing that needs a treat…read more I went to the bins at the front where you can scoop and weigh treats into a bag. I got a half pound of peanut butter mini bone biscuits. The ingredients are listed, and they're all very wholesome. The treats smelled nice, faintly of peanut butter, not like in an artificial way. I glanced at all the toys and rawhide-free chews. I'll come back for some of those another day. I didn't look in depth at the dog food side of the store, but there was a large selection. The checkout counter is by the display case with dog bakery items. Very whimsical and cute! Lots of big dog friendly treats, but a small dog might gain a pound just looking at them. There was a real dog employee that was happy to do business with me, but I was glad that there was a friendly human employee to take my money and wish me a good day. My parents' pup really likes the treats, and I think he feels special when he eats them. Leashed dogs are allowed in the store, so maybe he will visit next time.

This is a cute little bakery, for dogs. People can technically eat these items but they are not…read moremade for people. And yes, dogs are allowed inside. My mother-in-law had visited multiple times for her puppies and kept talking about how cute everything was. On our recent visit for Thanksgiving we stopped in to see what the fuss was about. The bakery case items are so cute!! There is a lot to choose from and you can even buy a doggie birthday cake (I am a weirdo and bake a dog friendly cake for my dog, but this is a nice alternative). Great idea to open a franchise location (the company originated in Kansas City) in Stillwater, there isn't much competition in town for specialty dog treats. You can buy some of the pre-packaged items at your local Target but the main draw here is the cute, decorated doggie treats in the bakery case that look like human treats. They also have a wide selection of toys, leashes, refrigerated dog food, and bath products. The employee working last Friday was super friendly and knowledgeable, and when we commented on the awesome bone shaped hanging rack (over the kitchen area) she told us that her dad welded it. This feels like a family business instead of a franchise, which is great in my book. My pup has been enjoying her treats and the prices are decent for the quality of the items. We will definitely be back!
