First of all, I love this store and especially the store Manager, Brandi, who always goes out of her way for her customers. I buy a range of items from this store for my horse business, whether it is for feed, supplies or farm and ranch stuff, I can always find what I need here. I find that the value of items I purchase is second to none and would recommend this store to all my friends and associates. The management at this store should be appreciated as in these times, caring and respectful people are hard to find. read more

I love this store. Been many times. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. I had an infestation of scorpions, they got everything together I needed for my size house to treat it twice. It worked. Also I covered I had many species of spiders In attic, it killed them too! My friend just treated 2nd time on Sat. Said all he saw were dead ones. They also helped me find correct product for my dog when he had hot spots. read more

This store is hopeless. For some reason, they seem incapable of keeping hay available, while the stores in Coleman and Comanche seem to be able to keep their hay stocked. At one point this fall they went without hay for over a month, and seemed unconcerned about their next shipment. The explaination being that the stores all have different suppliers. It seems to me the one that supplies the Brownwood store is slow, and they need to change. I do understand that loading hay for close to minimum wage would stink...those that load could be paid better. The store itself is a mess, not enough floor space, the floors look bad, poor lighting inside and out. Both Coleman and Comanche have nice, new stores. My review covers two topics. 1.) Great place to get supplies for my farm in Santa Anna,Texas. Very good customer service. 2.) Purchased Universal hydraulic fluid for my Orange Tractor and was given a "TSC Chance to win $2,500." I started to enter and found out that they will share this with, seems like everyone, based on the disclosures. Survey asks everything from whether you experience Incontinence to Haircolor and Toothpaste preference, Income, family size including children and grandchildren and yes, cats and dogs. I quit after 45 questions and still was not halfway. Ridiculously intrusive questionnaire. I would suggest not taking this unless you like getting a lot of junk mail. read more

Been going here for over 20+ years. First time I was made irrelevant. Cashier/ manager was mostly focused on talking and couldn't multi task. My time finally came up and she went and focused her attention on a customer who just walked in on the other side of the counter. Asked her to just give me my money back and I'll go to the next register, she refused and kept doing her own thing. read more

Wow this place is really hard to see from the road. Had my GPS on and I still almost missed the entrance. I have been to a TS before so I knew they are just a big toy store for ranchers. Came here with my parents who were looking for some stuff for their ranch. However after being there for 10 min we still had not found a employee to help with questions. I went looking for one and almost got me one too but he darted in the back and vanished. Guess I spooked the poor thing...next time ill remember to keep still and stay down wind.. After a bit my parents got what they wanted and went to the front to pay. The cashier was very polite and had a great smile. Slowest checkers in Brownwood. (yep even slower than Home Depot) Now with that said I'll explain my last, but not only, bad experience in TS B'wood. I needed a fence panel to cover a place where a fence had been flattened by a tree limb. I was leaving town that day and did not have enough time to fix it properly till I returned home, but had to keep the animals in. So I didn't want to pay $100 for a temporary fix. I walk up to the check out counter, because at least the people there are a captive audience and can't hide from you. I asked the older lady "what is your cheapest 5 foot tall fence panel?" She looks at me then says "we don't sell 5' fence panels". I point out to her that I just looked at several different ones outside. She gets kinda huffy and tells me that all they sell are 18 foot panels. Oh, I see. "no I'm not talking about length I'm talking about height". "What are the cheapest 5 foot TALL panels you sell?" Her answer, same as before, "SIR, we do not sell 5 foot panels we only sell 18 foot". When I try to explain to her again, that she is misunderstanding what I am asking she points up on the wall, where they have samples from different panels with prices up about 14 foot on the wall. "sir you'll just have to find it yourself" (well at least nothing has changed at TS since my last visit) then turns her back on me. I figured out that I wasn't going to buy anything from them that day. read more

Most of my help in the Brownwood TSC is from the people on the registers because they can't hide. Any time I've needed help to find something I have to go hunt someone up and if they go to check on something they don't come back. Very slow or no help. I have had a few GOOD people help me out and I always told the cashier how much I appreciated it. One thing I've NEVER found is someone to help me load my purchase in my truck. I'm handicapped and if I buy 50 lbs of dog food or other feed I need help putting it in the truck. I've waited 45 min with out getting help and finally did it my self. I am not sure who to complain to. I wish I could reach an upper level manager about the current manager of the Brownwood TSC store. I easily spend 10k annually through TSC but will no longer be using the Brownwood store. I've spoken with the manager at times and found him to be a very angry, hateful, bitter shell of a man. For awhile the store seemed to become more productive and a much more organized and happy place. When I inquired about the change I was told that the manager quit. Wow, what a difference it made! They must have given him his job back because I was in a few days ago and found him(tattoo manager) scowling as he was stocking shelves. That seems to be a much better position for him! Anyway, there had once again been a complete turnover of employees. The employees that are there tell me they are looking elsewhere for employment due to his horrible nature. I believe the managers name is Randy. The guy with full sleeve tattoos and the bitter, angry scowl, that supposedly manages a ranch and feed store..... I sure hope TSC upper managers wake up in time to save the Brownwood Store!!!! For now I'll be supporting higher priced local feed and hardware stores until the manager is fired! He shouldn't be managing a paper route much less a store as important to ranchers in the area. If upper management wishes to reach me to discuss this horrible employee, please feel free! Twice this week i went to ts and both times people were leaving what they came for because they could not get checked out. There was six or more customers in line and two waiting on someone to load something. One checker and she was trying but there was too much to do . No one in the back was answering the phone. The biggest knock i hear around town is the service. The people are friendly and seem to try. Maybe the staffing times and assignments need to be reviewed. This is a on going problem for this store and does not seem to be a issue in 5 other store i have been. I did leave without the hinges that were there and will drive further to another store. read more
