A friend of mine, who works in BGC, told me once that she wanted to take me to her favorite place in the area. I had passed through Terra 28th a couple of times before, but I had no idea that Track 30th existed, so it was a pleasant surprise. And soon enough, it became my favorite spot in the city, also! It is the adult counterpart of Terra 28th, meant specifically for fitness. It has toys for the big boys - instead of monkey bars, it has an installation setup designed for use as gym equipment. Its spacious grass area is ideal for dance troupes to rehearse on, and for various sports teams to train in: I've seen arnis and bodyweight playground workout groups, among many others, come and utilize the place on their own. Last summer, circuit trainers held regular fitness camps there. And true to its name, it has a jogging track! So, naturally, Coach Rio's running group also makes use of the place.
As someone who does not enjoy going to the gym, I take refuge in Track 30th when I need a break from my busy life. I come here with my running gear on, plug in my earphones, and spend a good two hours on the track with the wind in my hair (haha), and following my exercise regimen of choice. I'd probably be out of there sooner if I didn't enjoy the fact that it is an outdoor workout facility so much. read more
