However they do have everything you need for basic pet care; from vitamins and minerals to massive cages, so I treated my hamster. They also have a small aquarium and reptile centre but for some reason that isn't always open. I wasn't surprised about the animal care because the staff didn't seem to care much either. I asked for a cage within my budget and the woman just pointed in the direction, not guide me there. Not only that I had to take it from the top shelf because there was no one there to help! Talk about breaking the safety rules. When I got the check out the woman could see I was struggling to fit the large cage in the bag so what did she do? Carried on serving other people whilst I was still at the check out! So I had to bag my purchases on the floor!! It would have been nice if she put a smile on her face, even if it were fake. Even though they have good prices, I won't be coming back here because I felt sorry for the animals and the customer service put me off.

Their prices constantly outstrip those of bigger, chain pet stores, and I've bought a pet carrier (£17.85) and a hutch and run (£109.99) from there. Both are excellent, and still serve me now, and I'd certainly look to them if I needed similar equipment in the future. As well as this kind of product, they sell food, rugs, scratching posts, essentially anything you can name to do with pets. They also, of course, sell the pets themselves, with an impressive range covering everything from rabbits to rodents and birds to bearded dragons. The staff are also extremely helpful, even coming out of the shop to ask if you need help if you're looking at the various hutches at the front.

I happened upon this friendly shop a few years ago and on my first visit I mentioned to the lady…read morethat my dog was fussy with the food she would eat, so rather than advise me on which food to buy she gave me a load of samples and told me to see which one she liked and go from there. My dog took to one, which she still eats to this day. When returning to buy the food she also offered me to join the mailing list for the brand and said I would get offers through the post, which I did. I also tried to groomers recently and have now gone to them a few times. My dogs coat is extremely difficult to maintain and if I don't get to do it daily it gets matted very easily. The groomer there also said the dog has a very difficult coat so would be best to keep is as short as possible. I prefer her head a little longer and the groomer has always done her best to keep it longer than the body. A great personal service, they remember me when I go in store and are friendly and helpful.

The groomer charges around the normal amount of what I have paid and does a good job, it is usually easy to get an appointment with them.

They also stock books and DVDs on dogs and calenders at this time of year. I am always happy with the service I get here and once when I purchased something large and heavy it was brought to my car by a member of staff. I really like the newer range of dog toys and clothes (although I will only put a waterproof coat on my dog, they are still cute to look at!) they also do some lovely girlie leads and collars. Was in the store today and noticed they did some agility equipment which I have not seen before and bought a hoop and a jump at £9.99 each as I was very impressed with the price! They also do activity things for children during the summer holidays which is a great way for kids to learn about how to care for different animals.

This is a nice, large and bright store, which I have to visit monthly for my brothers dog's food…read more I always take the two children along so they can look at the mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish etc. As well as selling these animals, this store also has an adoption scheme set up with a local animal home, highlighting dogs, cats etc. who are in need of rehoming. Great idea! I can always find what I'm looking for and the staff are happy to advice. The staff are also very happy to carry out large items to your car.

They also have a lot of advice and information displayed, which is handy if you need help with your pet's requirements. The staff are quite friendly in here, if not a little quiet. I found what I needed quite easily when I went in, which was some cat biscuits and so there was no need for me to ask for any assistance. They also had a few bits and bobs stocked outside such as dog treats, which was nice and also sensible as they really are bursting at the seams inside. Overall, it is a great little pet shop!

Paul took time to measure the filter I wanted so I know it would fit into the housing and he spoke to Celia who so kindly offered to drop the filter off to me as I didn't have transport to collect and I needed the filter the same day. Received my order yesterday (07-02-23)which was sent on (06-02-23) which consisted of 1kg of frozen river shrimp 2 x 500g whitebait and 3 bags of large bloodworm and when i opened the package the frozen river shrimp had defrosted, the whitebait had defrosted and the live bloodworm were dead , i emailed yesterday explaining what has happened and then was asked the send proof which i did , then got a phone call today from a lovely lady who was trying to resolve this issue and her manager basically said the food is gamma radiated and therefore can be refrozen . But im not risking re freezing food that i would be feeding to very expensive and long lived fish which im sure a lot of other people would feel the same about and although they agreed to refund the dead bloodworm , they refused to refund or replace the so called "frozen" food which wasnt very frozen at all , its safe to say i will never be ordering from them again!!!
