To my amazement the store was huge and the store had way more than I expected. Anything you need in outdoor gear and clothing this is the place to shop. Great Christmas items here. Lots of free parking. Be it gloves, head gear, scarves, jackets, backpacks, outdoor wear, boots, shoes, etc they got it all for boys and girls of all ages. The staff was so amazingly knowledgeable and helpful. I would have made serious mistakes in sizing and choice of colour if it wasn't for their attention to detail. My daughter loved what I picked out thanks to the amazing staff member who assisted me. All of them from the owner to staff have a great sense of humour and made my shopping experience not only fun but got the right choice the first go around. Here is a small business we as Calgarians and Albertans should support. Lots of cute stocking stuffer items too. Drop in and look around you won't be disappointed.This I am very sure of. All the big brands are there, for kids like mine who truly play in the outdoors...hiking, camping in the mountains etc. There is no other place to compare to it without ordering from the U.S. I have particularly liked the Columbia, North Face and Merrell Lines. My son is actually on his third year with his Columbia Shorts and they have held up amazingly well. I grudginly had to make him stop wearing them as they are now too tight and no pre-teen boy should wear shorts that fitted! Since my one child outgrew their sizes, I have shopped there less often until recently when I started picking out items for my nephews and nieces too. It is a little far away from me, but worth the trip. While the brands they carry are a little more expensive than your regular box store brands they are worth it as they are technical gear and hold up better under most conditions. They have racks of sale items and other sales periodically, so they are worth watching out for.

My only complaint is that last summer I dropped off a large bag of clothing and checked back 4 times within over 6 months and had no credit. I kept getting told they hired a new girl to take over consignment and my stuff hadn't been put out yet. Finally I asked someone to look for my stuff, I knew it had to be lost. It was, and they would only give me $30 credit for it. Based on what I had made before and the giant bag I dropped off it was worth way more. I have a hard time trusting the store now...

So, I made a super quick pitstop at their 8th Ave establishment. If only I were made of Loonies. Man, I always see tons of stuff I want on my body when I walk into these stores. But, I digress. I wasn't here to shop the afternoon away. My ride was parked in a loading zone and I need to efficiently hunt for shoes. A nice yellow-haired woman (with a unique accent) saw my hyperness and helped me out. I was in dire need of shoes (my previous runners served me well on this planet, but the walking gods chose to take them back in an Alberta plains tornado the day before). I tried on a few shoes. One felt weird on my toes, but looked cool. Another one felt magnificent, but was fluorescent yellow....I almost got this one. I was torn. The girl there offered to call up to their Banff store to try a store swap, but alas, I was only a ship in the night here and that wouldn't work. Sadly, I wasn't able to get some runners here, but I did love the store and will definitely come back here whenever I'm in need and in Cow Town.
