A new venture in conjunction with Michael Caines set in a stunning refurbishment of a previously well loved local wine bar, the Townhouse is something to be admired.
Perfectly treading the fine line between quirky and contemporary, the decor is pure class with a hint of luxe.
Food on the lunch menu included a divine chicken terrine with hazelnuts and mushrooms and a curried carrot soup which my collegue declared "awesome". Mains were Turkey with all the trimmings (equally gorgeous with a pulled pork, ginger and fennel stuffing of champions), pumpkin risotto and roasted pollock. We also enviously eyed plates of fillet steak from the a la Carte menu as they were whisked past by the excellent front of house staff.
We were sadly too full to sample dessert but at £14.95 a head for two courses, we'll be back.
