    Nice rooms!
    Christine J.

I love Marriott Suites and they have the best free breakfast in the business hands-down. The room was very nice and extremely clean. We had to modify our reservation before we checked in and I thought the total of our bill on was incorrect. I asked the lady checking us in about it several times and she assured me it was correct. My husband was getting annoyed at me and paid even though I wanted to know the old total before paying At the same time the manger came over. (Heather maybe?). She knew what I was asking and showed the other woman where to find it. The price per night was too high. The manager corrected it and I was very thankful. I am allergic to feathers and I always let the reservation person know I need my room defeathered so no one is rushing to do it when we check in. I am always assured they put the note in the system but many times it doesn't get relayed to the property. When I found it was not done. I called down to the front desk and almost immediately there was a knock at the door. That same manager came up and personally switched out the bedding. The property needs to hold onto her and her top notch, customer service skills.

While the staff was very nice, I thought the property was a little run down for a Marriott property. Noticed it was just a bit dirty

First Impressions of the Hotel…read more I've just arrived at the hotel for a business trip, and I must say the first impressions are mostly positive. The hotel has a charming exterior and an interior with a vintage vibe, but in a good way. It's got character. Upon arrival, the receptionist was friendly and helpful, which always makes a great first impression. The parking situation was a bit tricky, though. There is limited parking on-site, but they do have an overflow lot not far away, which is convenient, but still something to keep in mind. The room itself is spacious and adequate. It includes a nice balcony, a TV, and a desk for work. However, there was no refrigerator, which I found a bit inconvenient. Also, there was a slight odd smell in the room, but it wasn't overpowering or unpleasant--just a bit of an odd first impression. One of the highlights of the stay is the complimentary breakfast, which is always a nice touch. But I do have to mention a one thing. There was a small bench at the foot of the bed that I didn't notice was possibly damaged. When I sat down, I unexpectedly sank into it, which was a bit of a surprise. All in all, the hotel meets my needs for this trip. It's got some character and charm, but there are a few areas that could use some improvement.

This stay was for a quick overnight work trip. I arrived pretty late -- completely exhausted and starving after a three-hour drive -- but the hotel was easy to find with GPS, parking was simple, and I was greeted right away by two very polite front desk associates. The lobby is beautifully maintained and nicely decorated. There's a coffee bar right when you walk in, which is a great touch (though I'm not sure how frequently it's replenished throughout the day). My room was on the second floor, and it was spotless. One of the reasons I love Home2 Suites is how spacious the rooms feel. It truly feels more like a mini apartment than a standard hotel room. There are so many functional spaces to set your things down without feeling cramped. I had a full-size bed, a couch, and a long counter that could easily serve as a workspace for two people at once. I especially appreciate having the option to prepare your own meals. When you travel often, sometimes you just want to stay in and not eat out for every single meal. The bathroom was roomy with amazing hot water -- exactly what I needed to relax my muscles after that long drive. I slept great, no noise issues at all, and woke up fully refreshed. I didn't try the breakfast because my boss had suggested we go out instead. My only general suggestion -- and this applies to many hotels -- would be to focus on serving more fresh, real breakfast options. When you're staying at a Hilton property, you expect quality across the board, including the food. Overall, this was a great stay, and I would absolutely return.

My husband had a conference, and I had a soccer game so it worked out. Got here a little later than expected so I called the front desk before arriving. The lady greeted me kindly and let me know she would be at the desk until later on. I was happy to hear because when I finally arrived, she was actually there. I was greeted with a warm smile and she quickly checked me in so we could get settled. I asked about some amenities I may need and she pointed me to the right direction. They have a washer and dryer, which is something I do use when I go on vacation. The actual room was spacious. Always a plus when it's a couple of people in the room. It was clean and maintained so throughout our stay. Overall great hotel. The only "complaint" I have is the mattress however I feel like this is common in most hotels. Wasn't the best mattress that I have ever laid on but it worked for the couple of nights I stayed.

As others have noted in their reviews, Ken and Jeff are constantly working to keep up this lovely family resort. It is clean and landscaped beautifully, and the rooms are just right! With a sitting area in our two bedroom, we enjoyed the recliner and couch as we watched movies in the evening. In our full kitchen, we stocked the refrigerator from the local Publix and made our breakfast and lunch, which we packed for the beach. Many guests chose to grill out as we saw when we would load up to go to a local restaurant for dinner, but we preferred eating out! On our first night at Hurricane Hanks restaurant down the road, we met up with a resident who offered us more ideas for restaurants for dinner. There's nothing like walking right out onto the beach to spend a morning watching the waves, seeing dolphins frolic, observing osprey catching their breakfast, and swimming in the water among schools of fish. Many of the guests knew each other from yearly vacations, and we have already made our reservation for next year! Anna Maria Island is quiet and family friendly. White Sands Resort offers shuffleboard and corn hole right next to the pool, but the best show is the sunset. On our first night, we were surprised to see how many lined the beach to see God's beauty, of course clapping at the end! Thank you to Ken, Jeff, Joy, and Esther for a wonderful stay. We wish you the best in the coming year, and we look forward to seeing you again!

The room wasn't large, but it was well appointed and easily held our 4 carry on bags with room to move comfortably. Publix (supermarket) is across the street. Aldi (value supermarket) is next door to the hotel. There is a small plaza behind the hotel that had a movie theater, an Italian restaurant that had good marguerita pizzas and sweet tea.
