Hair is hard to rid but when in the shower, it's gross. a vacuum works better when everything is dry. Many construction workers have to be out of town and on the job by 7. This particular Holiday Inn has complimentary breakfast at 6:30 but what stands out is they put a gate across the dining area to ensure people who have to leave early can't grab a piece of fruit and head off to work. I guess staff doesn't value the workers who chose to stay. Every other Holiday Inn I've stayed, their staff not only allowed guests to grab something quick but offered assistance. Pretty sad. So if you have to be at work early, know you aren't getting anything in your belly.

If you feel you have to work out after a long day or early morning , there is plenty of equipment to exercise available 24 hours. I had a great sleep there in a very quiet room...loved it The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of the usual, but me not a big breakfast eater, I focused more on the different kind of coffees available. Downtown is 2 1/2 minutes with the car with plenty of food places and bars.

You, too, can curl up on the vintage leather couch and watch a VHS of 1997's hit war romance Life is Beautiful (or Rocky III or 39 Steps, or one of the other two dozen tapes available in the cabin). Everywhere we looked as we explored the cabin, there was something new to see and be delighted by. The Cadillac is the largest cabin at this vacation cabin property. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully furnished kitchen with a gas range, farmhouse sink, new "vintage" refrigerator and a pour-over coffee maker with local coffee. It also has a large dining table, vintage leather couch and recliner to curl up in while watching that VHS movie of your choice. Or if you're not into old-school media, there's also Roku on the smart TV. Children will be delighted by the special kids nook that has been created just for them, which includes classic books and games, and a vintage record player with kids records. It turns out that all of the cabins, not just The Cadillac, are decorated with their own unique vintage furniture and knickknacks. There are 10 cabins on the property. Outside, guests are invited to enjoy a community fire pit and lawn games. There's also a covered shed with firewood that you can purchase for a few dollars. (You pay on the honor system by slipping some cash into a slot.) The cabins are located less than four miles away from downtown Cadillac. There is no one on site at the property, so you work with the owner via email to set up your stay. They will give you the combination to get into your cabin, and if you have any problems, they're only a phone call/text away. It was a very low-key, relaxing stay. I 100% recommend staying at Mackinaw Timbers if you want a unique lodging experience in the Cadillac area.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and had everything we may have needed complete with a microwave, a coffeemaker and mini-fridge. The room may have been their smallest which is likely why it was least expensive, but it had a huge bathroom that was also clean. I let my little boy have the bed and brought a cot to sleep on. It was a little cramped for the two of us with the cot. My only complaint was that our room had access to the room next door and in the evenings the smell from their microwave dinner would waft in. This July I think I'll opt for a larger room, otherwise this was a great spot to stay. I almost buried the lead...they're a stone's throw from the public beach too. We walked over for a late swim the night before we left. This was hugely cool to be right around the corner from the beach. Definitely worth checking into.

I joked the choice was due to the Texas Roadhouse restaurant across the street. Comfy beds, helpful staff, convenient ish location. The ish, I was just in town for a show at the Casino. I friend warned me to not stay at the casino, you pay for the convenience. So, this hotel is on the opposite side of town. Plus size, Mt. Pleasant really isn't that big so it's a 5-10 minute taxi ride to the venue. Getting a taxi back at 11pm was a bit of a boondoggle, watch for Stargazer yaci- way cheaper than Uber. Lol. Sadly, I left a pair of sunglasses (prescription, boo) and some cute cat earrings on the nightstand. It happens. I imagine that if you were in town for a Football or Swim event, this would be a great place to stay. I could see the CMU stadium and their aquatic center from my window.

This ranch did not disappoint. Each room is decorated so cute, the beds were very comfortable and having a private bathroom for each room was a defendant plus. The breakfast was homemade and very delicious! The owner made sure each room was clean and even asked us if the breakfast time was good for us. You won't get this kind of service at a hotel. The surrounding ranch was beautiful. Sitting on the large deck overlooking the horse ranch with coffee in hand was so calming. I wanted to stay longer. I would recommend staying here for as long as your vacation allows. You may even bring your horse or book to ride their horse. They have a large property with trails, along with state land behind them which also has many trails. I would recommend staying here, you won't want to leave.
