Saw the Wicked Movie on screen 18…read more First I don't like this buying tickets at the concessions stuff because it screws anyone who already bought tickets online and wants to buy food. Everyone has to wait in the same line to get food. You basically lose the privilege of planning ahead (and spending $2 more) because you're waiting with all the other plebeians who are buying their tickets same day. We bought online then went straight in to get our seats, but when I came back I found I had to go all the way back OUTSIDE to get in line for food. Also so screen 18 was showing a musical. There was something immediately off about the sound. You could hear it, but there were no mids and little bass. The sound system was so flat that whole 3hr picture. Watching a musical, this bugged me so much. It just wasn't as full as you'd expect a theater sound system to be. Lastly 2 boxes of candy and a regular and large popcorn were $35. Stars deducted.

Review Visit: June 1st, 2013…read more You'll have a wheely good time here. There really is a museum for everything and anything. This one happens to be dedicated to all things on wheels. Or things that have wheels. Or wheel-shaped things. Okay, I don't think it's the last one but I do think this place is dedicated to items sitting on top of wheels. I'm not really sure how I found out about this place. It may have been from someone at work that brought it up during one of our many talks about traveling. Doing what I do best, I contacted someone to go with me and that person just happened to be my dad. We hopped in my car and made the semi-short drive to check the place out. When we approached the museum, the first thing we noticed was the train situated next to the building. You knew from looking at it that you were in for a treat. We made our way in and got to checking out the museum. The first thing we saw were antique cars. I recognized a few but a lot of them were unique to their time period. I'm not super attached to antique cars but I always think they are cool to look at in museums and such. They had maybe 15 or so at the time of my visit. We moved on to the other part of the museum and it had an eclectic collection of odds and ends. There was a firetruck that we got to take photos with. There was a Rube Goldberg-esque display as seen below. They had a mini train model set up in a glass case. Lastly, I remember there being a giant pendulum-style clock near the firetruck. It's rather hard to write this post as the place seemed to be dedicated to things on wheels but also other random odds and ends. It's best to check out their website below or visit the museum to see what I mean. It's a neat place to spend and afternoon if you have the time.

If you think there's going to be a line, use bathrooms and bring snacks before coming. Also huge tip: Make sure you are going to the "Folepi's Winter Wonderland". Because the Festival of Lights is actually a parade that is an event at a different place in East Peoria. The winter wonderland we are reviewing here is the light show you drive through. But the light show is really well done. Lots of fun things constructed I haven't seen before. Like a huge Star Trek Enterprise.

I would imagine kids would especially love it, BUT something I didn't read about in any of the reviews is the CRAZY wait time. From the point that our car was "in line" we drove (very slowly, mind you) for over 90 minutes before getting to the ONE pay station... so two of the world's longest lines of cars are converging into one pay line. Still, it's inexpensive and there is even a radio channel you can turn to with Christmas music to really get you into the holiday spirit. So if you go, make sure you have PLENTY of time. And if you go with kids, good luck!!!

They had Butch's pizza but I believe there is also a night when someone makes homemade pizzas. There was Pilsner Urquell in cans, but my selection was a vodka tonic, and it hit the spot. There was a scavenger hunt clue posted, which we failed to find, plus they have billiards, darts, and video slots. Cash is king but they accept credit cards with a fee.

I had a great conversation with the owner, Donna, who stated they had been in commercial operations for 10 years and having this physical site open for 8 years. She was a wealth of information and extremely nice and cool person to talk with - she knows he wines! After discovering the Broken Barrel was my favorite, I decided to purchase a bottle and enjoy the pastoral setting of the outdoor seating overlooking their lake.
