Racist store, racist owner

Just had an extremely uncomfortable experience with the owner, who chooses to prominently display mammy / blackface dolls in his stores. When we asked why he sold them and suggested that they might reinforce racism, he showed us to the door. Please do not shop at this store.

Rude cashier...don't talk about anything around her. She may not be nice to you :-/

This totally would have had a great review if it wasn't for the "cold" cashier...! New at little antique store, decently priced, and I always find something fun! Well, my Mom and I were standing in line to check out and the lady in front of is was buying a pro-Hillary button...we are so anti Hillary, needless to say it sparked a convo between my Mom and I. The cashier was SUPER friendly with the ladies in front of us, to the point where our conversation lasted a bit while we waited for them to finish their friendly conversation...when it was our turn, the cashier was SO cold to us. We even tried friendly chatting, but we were essentially cut off. No smile, no politeness, she did not want to be friendly to us at all...so obviously to us she didn't approve of our conversation! Maybe she should be out in back to stock boxes with that attitude...just saying. Can't be rude to people whose opinion you do not share!

Great place. The young lady was very nice and attentive…read more Great selection of items and great prices. We went to all three properties and had fun. Yes, we bought stuff. Very happy with it.

One of three locations, Pitts Street is the middle-of-the-pack both age wise between their three…read moreplaces (Pitts, Uptown, and Town Center) and building wise. Pitts had a very interesting feel to it with high ceilings (open) but densely packed vendors (crowded). Unlike Uptown, Pitts Street felt like there were more antique items (since the vendors really packed stuff into their booths) as well as non-Antique stuff like crafts or resale items. Pricing was all over the place, I think again by virtue of how much merchandise they've packed at this location. My suggestion would be, take your time and assess quality versus price. There's certainly great finds at this location, so it's just a matter of finding that diamond in the rough. Note: I noticed the folks that threw in the 1-Star reviews due to their concerns about the history and background of merchandise being sold and/or the comments made by an employee. One thing I encourage potential buyers to consider is that these locations are used by dozens of vendors. If one were to boycott the entire building, there will be sellers that may well 100% agree with your viewpoint but still lose out of sale due to the presence of objectionable items from an unrelated vendors or comments made by a cashier. Boycott that particular seller if you want to make an impact with your wallet, but to carte blanche rule out the rest of the inventory, keeping in mind that there's only so many places these sellers can afford to rent out booths at, seems unproductive to the whole support small business mindset these kind of shops promote.
