This is a great resource for the small town of Wooler - it's also called the Cheviot Centre and rents out some very cool office pods to local small businesses. In retrospect, I should have taken a picture of these as they look like upturned boat hulls out the back of the main building, but I was there for a talk and it didn't seem appropriate to disrupt the proceedings.
The tourist info bit is at the main entrance, and as well as the very helpful staff they have a wee shop with a lovely assortment of local goodies, from cuddly toys to jams. There is a hall you can rent, and an activity room, coffee lounge and the aforementioned office pods; upstairs is another small meeting room that can be hired, and a small but interesting local history exhibition on the mezzanine balcony.
It's a nicely designed building and a great addition to the town. read more
