There was a good selection of free leaflets, along with some items for sale including tea towels, rennie mcintosh products, calanders. The centre was easy enough to access but I could see it being a bit problematic in terms of space at the height of the summer just because of the size of it. It was clean and tidy so quite a nice tourist information centre really.

I was very pleasantly surprised. It's a lovely old building, situated in the clock tower in a very prominent position on the seafront. Internally it's 'bijou', but there is lots and lots of information available on all manner of activities and places both locally and in Scotland as a whole. I came away with a few leaflets having had a good chinwag with the lady there, who obviously had good local knowledge and appeared to be keen to help. Not just for tourists, this place is well worth a visit even if just to see what you're missing!

After trying to book a trip to LA through a "travel price comparison" website, but with far too…read moremany options (I just want the cheapest flight that didn't take 3 days to get there!), I decided to head to STA to ask their advice. Well, the guy behind the desk was amazing! He literally asked me when and where I wanted to go, typed something into his computer, then literally seconds later, *PING!* he said "right, I can book you onto this flight, for this price, whatdayathink?" Wow. Quick and painless, I can tell you that, so I booked there and then. No fuss, no panic, no annoying questions (or popups). Thank you STA - I might even send you a postcard.

No, I use them for travel insurance as it is has the cheapest rates going! Their 99p a day option covers the majority of your possessions (except sunglasses - do we lose them more than other things?) and the service is always brilliant. I have however nipped in to use their holiday planning brochures which are brilliant if your looking for a holiday in a quite little places yet to be touched by masses of tourists! I'm planning a holiday to NYC this summer and the rates here are second to none if you hold a matric card. New York for 279 quid! A serious bargain as a cheap flight outwith student travel is aroud 330. And with San Fran being only 369 its also worth a visit to the west coast of the north american continent! Round the world flights are also offered from 689 pounds with a flight from every major continient and a select flight within each one as well! Definitely the place to stop by if you're planning a trip with your pals or heading solo. You won't find cheaper!
