It's very bright and spacious inside with plenty of free information to help you plan a stay in the area, maps, postcards and gifts and souvenirs too (from pens and china to tea towels and soap). There are children's books as well. There's usually a DVD playing which shows local places to visit, or attractions of Scotland generally. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. There is also a Genealogy Centre, a 90-seat theatre and a restaurant at the back. Open every day including Saturdays and Sundays.

I was very pleasantly surprised. It's a lovely old building, situated in the clock tower in a very prominent position on the seafront. Internally it's 'bijou', but there is lots and lots of information available on all manner of activities and places both locally and in Scotland as a whole. I came away with a few leaflets having had a good chinwag with the lady there, who obviously had good local knowledge and appeared to be keen to help. Not just for tourists, this place is well worth a visit even if just to see what you're missing!

I'm planning a holiday to NYC this summer and the rates here are second to none if you hold a matric card. New York for 279 quid! A serious bargain as a cheap flight outwith student travel is aroud 330. And with San Fran being only 369 its also worth a visit to the west coast of the north american continent! Round the world flights are also offered from 689 pounds with a flight from every major continient and a select flight within each one as well! Definitely the place to stop by if you're planning a trip with your pals or heading solo. You won't find cheaper!

Payment was simple. Sometimes it can be a hassle when you're touring overseas, but that was easy peasy. Our guide was Derek Giles. He was a perfect match for our group- professional, down to earth, and easy going. I've worked with some who are a bit pushy, egotistical, or too regimented. Derek was delightful. We did have some unforeseen and avoidable problems, but you know what? Stuff happens. It was all handled quickly and without a lot of fuss. The show went on and we had a fabulous time. It means a lot to know you're in good hands. Derek introduced us to a lot of local customs and hideouts that we wouldn't have known about without his suggestion - including imbibing on a wee dram of 12 year old scotch and dinner on the wharf in Oban that was to DIE for. Yum, yum. I'm missing Scotland already and would recommend you see it with Scottish Terrier Tours.

Booked our second holiday here the other day and now consider the chat with our regular Thomson rep (I won't embarass anyone with names) as all part of the process. A relaxed vibe in here (except on Saturdays!) where you can exchange money and book excursions and other things on top of planning and booking a holiday. Super easy to pay up all holidays, simply jumping in to pay off a wee bit more at a time up until 3 months before your departure date. Booked a holiday from here that was the backdrop to our wedding and it was amazing. We didn't have a great time with travelling, and when we told them about the specifics they were shocked and immediately got on top of it and fought our case with the parties involved on our behalf.
