I hadn't been into Helensburgh Tourist Information centre in years, however a few weeks ago I called in to see if there was anything local that I had missed out on that would be good for a visit from the grandchildren.
I was very pleasantly surprised. It's a lovely old building, situated in the clock tower in a very prominent position on the seafront. Internally it's 'bijou', but there is lots and lots of information available on all manner of activities and places both locally and in Scotland as a whole.
I came away with a few leaflets having had a good chinwag with the lady there, who obviously had good local knowledge and appeared to be keen to help.
Not just for tourists, this place is well worth a visit even if just to see what you're missing! read more
