It can be easily accessed via public transport, with many buses stopping right outside and Solihull Railway Station a short walk away, I do find the buses can be confusing if you don't know where you're going, due to the many different stops even to the same destination (Some buses to Birmingham take longer than others for example) Brands located here include Apple, Footasylum, JD, Nespresso and Lush. There is also a large John Lewis store here, which is all the more useful after their Grand Central location closed. This also features a Joe and the Juice. Food and beverage locations within the mall include Joe and the Juice, TGI Friday's, Nando's, Starbucks, Pizza Express and Wagamama. Most of the shops are on the Ground Level, while the restaurants seem to be on the upper level, there are exemptions to this rule, for example, Starbucks is on the Ground Level. I did like the contrast of the modern and older parts of the mall, I did find a lack of lifts/staff around the centre to be a slight problem. 4*

A very poor experience today!…read more I found myself with 45 minutes to spare in Solihull before my meeting so I walked into the town centre and into Touchwood to take some photos to share with you here and on twitter for my 100 Days of Birmingham photos. I took a portrait photo of the closest shopping arcade and then turned my camera to take a landscape photo. A security guard walked up to me and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was taking photos to share of the shopping arcade on twitter and he told me that I was not allowed to take photos. Ironic since there are already 12 photos on here. He suggested that I was taking photos of the people in the shopping centre which wasn't the case. He then asked me to DELETE my photos. I tweeted from BrumHour's twitter account about my experience and received a reply back that said they can ask people not to take photos. As its private property they are well within their rights to do so.

They have outside and indoor eateries, and they have an arcade and an escape room. However, that's about where the praise stops... We came here from a nearby hotel to eat dinner. It was a short walk, the lake was pretty. We chose Zizzi's as it looked like a fun Italian choice (we later learned this place was a chain restaurant, so that was a bummer). I'll write up my restaurant reviews in detail on their pages instead, but in short, the places we ate all all seemed to be short staffed, in a rush, and not very open to service. We ate at Karaage also. Everything was pretty overpriced, especially when we considered the escape room option. They have a 'sky garden' that wasn't very impressive. And being an American visitor, I was eager to try anything but American cuisine, but half of what Resorts World offered was American cuisine. Overall I wouldn't recommend Resorts World, but if you're staying at the Hilton nearby, boy, this place really is your only dinner option.

The area looks and feels pretty good, it is set alongside the river, and the glass building still feels modern to this day, it is still relatively new having opened in 2015, but it still doesn't feel that old. There are many places to eat and drink: Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Miller and Carter, Nando's, Pizza Express and Starbucks are just some of the options here. If shopping is more of your thing, there are many Outlet stores with brands including Nike, Next and The North Face, the selection of stores isn't too impressive although it is a welcome addition as this isn't designed for shopping, and is an entertainment complex after all. It is over multiple floors, I did find the layout to be confusing, I do feel more of a plan could be helpful, I did notice a couple of people wandering around and looking confused, in and out of lifts/escalators. The building is owned by Genting, who run the casino here. Resorts World can still be seen as a family complex, as you can still walk around the complex without having to go through the casino. 4* - Resorts World is a great addition to the surrounding area and Birmingham as a whole, it's a pretty cool place despite the issues mentioned.

But don't get me wrong, the centre still boasts a large collection of big stores such as Poundland, WHSmith and Iceland, which are all greatly needed for the Northfield locals. It means that they don't have to travel elsewhere for their necessities. The overall aesthetics of Northfield's precinct are very outdated and generic, however, the actual shops themselves are varied when compared to the usual shopping centres of Brum. It's the independent shops that make the centre different, and there's a great collection of clothes stores for all ages and genders, from the men's shop Little Italy, to the girl's clothes accessories shop Miss Bizybody. I was quite surprised at the actual size of the centre, and expected it to be much smaller for the area (considering that there's quite a few shops on the Bristol Road outside as it is.) The centre is a great find, and is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

My friend and I were a little lost at first because it is so spread out, but we eventually found our way, lol. It is a really nice place because if you want to see a show, head to the Genting Arena, unwind at the Santai Spa, go for a bite with their restaurants, watch a movie at their massive Cineworld or just enjoy discounts of your favorite brands in their outlet shops. It's a really nice place and it's a great place to go to get away from the usual hustle and bustle of the city. A very nice place to go with friends, family, or for a date. Can't wait to go back! :)

I was pleased to find they sell clothes for ladies aged twenty to forty who have modern lifestyles. I have a keen interest in fashion and after seeing their collections a few times I can see they keep their trends up-to-date. I found out that they spend eighteen weeks every year buying clothing for niche collections and these clothes aren't available online or in department stores. So you can get an individual look, isn't that great? Like I said earlier I avoid places like this because of their high prices and even when this shop had a sale on the prices were still way out of my budget! This is definitely a shop for women who can splash some cash. However, the shop offered a nice and friendly atmosphere and customer service. If I could afford to shop here I would.

This is not necessarily a criticism, but it is hard to tell what year it is. Here, an otherwise disparate group of enterprises have been brought together under one brand; a sense of unity among the rag-tag which is loosely supported by a multi-storey car park, shared escalator and website. Familiar names - mainly fast food, bookies and vendors of shirts worn by those on whom people have a flutter - are to be found, along with independents whose frontages have not changed since 1982. Hamsters, greetings cards and lots of things for under a quid are among their wares. A really good chippy is the best of the bunch. A new and modern annex, which has an almost atrium feel, is a surprise find, but it would seem initially to only serve as an entrance from another compass point rather than a source of a better retail experience. It does, however, comprise an Asda supermarket which is one of the chain's best designs regionally. It helps cut down on the trolley-clashing, marbles-losing frustration usually experienced in two of its sister stores, Minworth and Tamworth.

I have today received a parking ticket of £75 for shopping in the town centre for more than 3 hours on my last visit! I telephoned the shopping centre to be told that a new company has been employed and have installed CCTV. The town centre shops are disappearing one by one. Asda is killing off the shops and I will never return there now having this parking fine. I parked where I always have in the carpark at the bottom of the escalators. This car park is always empty now. I have the same shops closer to where I live and will use them from now on. What a ridiculous thing to advertise a free car park for the shops as the website boasts.

They have changing rooms but if you need the toilet, afterall you could be there a while(!) go to sainsbury which is just a long a few shops away. They also have a wide selection of bags/luggage and beauty products. You should also note that they have changed their returns policy. It use to be 28 days but is now 14 days. Also, take a bag as they now charge for plastic bags. It's not optional which can annoy some customers as I have witnessed. Lots of parking outside and is about a 20min drive from the city centre

Good if u wanna by a few pairs in one go. Good for gym clothing men's shorts £5-10 tops £10-20. Stock is limited so go grab yourself a bargain. Parking outside costs £1.60 for two hours and cheaper for 30 minutes.

Mell Square is like so many shopping centres in Britain -- rundown, built in the 70s or 80s, and…read morenot updated or repaired much since. It's dark and gloomy, with dirty floors, poorly tiled walls, and an entrance that's nearly impossible to find unless you happen upon it by chance. However, if you DO happen upon it by chance, there are a few really great shops inside to recommend it. First of all, if you're out in Solihull town centre doing some shopping at the much nicer Touchwood Centre, and you find you need groceries, instead of heading to a proper shop and having to park again, there is a Sainsbury's inside Mell Square, just minutes from town centre. There is a New Look, which is one of the largest ones I've seen, with really helpful staff, and a great selection of stuff what girls like. The Julian Graves booth offers all the fruits and nuts you could ever want. In addition to the Clark's outside of the centre, there is another one inside, and a few other shops that obviously haven't stood out in my mind! Mell Square should either be completely renovated (as it's a hideous oncrete eye sore on the outside), or knocked down, and it's shops moved elsewhere. The shops are all useful - the centre is not.

It is easy to access other forgotten shopping areas from Mell Square, such as Drury Lane you can then see the full range of shops Solihull has to offer after the hype of Touchwood. Mell Square has its own car park, which is often less full than Touchwood or John Lewis. From here you can access House of Fraser department store.
