My wife just had a massage here from Mark, this evening and said it was, hands down, the best…read moremassage she has ever had. For context, she has been having massages in San Diego, Santa Barbara and elsewhere most of her life. Places like the four seasons, the knot shop etc... that are extremely highly regarded for the expertise of the therapists. Mark was better. Her muscles are like literal rocks and it isn't always easy to find massage therapists who can give, what amounts to, a sports massage. Essentially. She noted and shared with me that he seemed very knowledgeable on the way that the body and the muscles work and it wasn't just a relaxing rub down, although it was after a bit. He was inspecting and looking and was modifying as he was going through the massage. He honed in on a particular place that extremely tense and challenging and spent at least 30 minutes on that. She was very grateful that he was able to understand the mechanics and understand her specific mechanics so quickly. She also said that the environment of the location itself was very relaxing, upscale, and very inviting. It made her feel very calm just waiting to start. The front desk staff was very professional and nice. She was very at ease. We are so happy to find our new massage home. We will definitely be back.

Last time I'll ever use Elements Massage, considering their horrible business practices. The new owner was very rude, and corporate office took months to respond, just to say there was nothing they would do. There is no way to get the money refunded via my credit card since the gift card purchase was made months ago.

I am beyond disappointed with the service my mom received at this location. I purchased the…read moreSweetgrass Deluxe Spa Package for her for Mother's Day, paying the full amount online in advance. Despite receiving a confirmation of the reservation, the staff treated her terribly, claiming that there was no reservation for her. To make matters worse, she overheard the staff making disrespectful and hurtful comments, saying she "does not belong in a place like this" and insinuating that she couldn't afford the services - that were already paid for!! This is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. Not only did they fail to honor the reservation, but they also made my mom feel unwelcome and disrespected. I expect a business that claims to offer a luxury experience to treat all customers with dignity and professionalism. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to be cautious before considering this establishment. I felt sooo bad for my mom. What a way to spend Mother's Day. I travel all over for work and picked this spa (if you can even call it that) as it looked like the best experience for my mom. This experience took place around Mother's Day 2022. It is a late post, but needed to warn others of the awful service.

When I called a few hours later to explain the circumstances, the response was dismissive. The justification offered -- that the charge was necessary to compensate the massage therapist for their time -- doesn't hold up mathematically: NOW Massage's Mt. Pleasant employees earn an average of $41-$45 per hour depending on experience, while the owners reportedly grossed between $130,000 and $200,000 last year. Am I compensating an employee or pool boy? lol In good faith, I proposed a reasonable compromise: a refund of half the charge. Instead, I was offered 50% off a future service, which sidesteps the actual issue -- that I should not have been charged the full $130 in the first place. Had the situation been handled with any consideration for the circumstances, a $65 charge would have more than covered the therapist's hourly rate and reflected basic fairness. This kind of experience is exactly why longtime residents of Mount Pleasant feel increasingly alienated by businesses that prioritize rigid policy over community and basic human decency -- treating loyal neighbors like transactions rather than people.
