Collectors and curious browsers will appreciate some higher-end and niche options (they're almost always showcased behind locked glass cases), while the cigar humidor and the large beer cooler tucked in the back add a little extra variety. I mean, pre-cooled six packs, champagne, and kegs make for a fun and easy party that you can just grab and go while heading out fishing,to the beach, on your boat, or simply on the front porch. Like most locations, the experience can be a bit uneven depending on who you interact with. It's an unusual Austrian wine where the different grape varieties are planted in the same vineyard, and harvested and pressed together. That's often a difficult wine to find, and especially at the great price it was offered at Total Wine. Huge selection -- of some things. The staff is helpful and many are fairly knowledgeable. The problem: if you want certain unpopular drinks, they won't have them. Other unusual things, they do have: a pretty good selection of wines from Georgia (the country, not the state north of Florida). The sherry selection is tiny. The ABC liquor store a few miles south on U. S. 1 also has a poor selection, but it's still better. Genever gin? Last time I checked I think they had a few bottles of exactly one variety. Rhum agricole: some, but much of it is expensive bottles of very aged rum, and almost none is high-proof and under $30 or so. With liquor, they've succumbed to the current fashion of flavored whiskeys, vodkas, and rums, and those have forced a lot of interesting smaller producers off the shelves. That problem is ubiquitous: go to any liquor store, especially a drugstore one like Walgreens or a grocery one like Publix or Winn-Dixie, and it's worse than at Total. You can actually find relatively many bottles of unflavored booze at Total. I guess that's what most customers buy? read more

I enter the Jensen Beach Total Wine and more about 6:35 PM on Friday evening, January 3, 2024. My purpose was the purchase of a particular liquor, which was quickly located with the help of the knowledgeable floor staff. Simple enough. Only one couple was in the checkout lane, and they appeared to be completing their purchase. The cashier, who did not appear to be be fluent in English, and then customers seemed to be performing a comedy act, the male customer went so far as to walk behind the clerk and gave her a brief shoulder massage. I walked off and strolled around the store for five minutes or so and returned to the checkout. The comedy farce was continuing. Cashier was none attentive, totally involved in her farce. I placed down the bottle I had intended to purchase and exited the store. The situation speaks for itself, it was a very bad shopping experience. The store is very well stocked, trained floor staff, but if you can't check out, what good is it? Two stars. read more

The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is that we had a very helpful woman working there help us pick out some Burboun to give as gifts. I wish I had caught her name (middle-aged, dark hair, was working 6/10/23 around 1pm, deserves a raise). Things went downhill from there once we got to the register. As usual for a Saturday at this place, the place is packed, and the checkout lines are long. We have been long-time "members," and while we aren't there a lot, when we go, we stock up. This time we bought a case of sparkling wine and 2 bottles of Burboun. 12 bottles is a case. Signs all over the place say you get 10% off a case, but no, because we had 12 bottles of different types of sparkling wine no discount. Then the cashier starts to tell us if we download the app we can find some excellent coupons and save a lot of money. A half dozen people are behind us in line. Is this really the time to download an app and dig around for coupons? I ask her if we could just get the discounts and not download the app. Nope, no can do, which is a shame since we could probably save $50 on our purchase. Really? I realize this is not her fault. Lorena appears to be the only employee that actually works at this store. Everytime I am there she's the only register open while managers and other staff are just standing around and one line is going all the way down the isle to the back of the store. Bottles facing forward is great and all, but open another register and help customers check out, then worry about the shelves. We watched a male manager turning bottles around while there were 10 customers waiting in line at the one register open. Other employees just wondering around the store avoiding contact with customers. So we arrived at total Wine and more to pick up some wine and take a look at the bourbon selection. Needless to say, both were rather extensive, but taking in consideration that our 93-year-old mom does not want to spend a significant amount of a bottle of wine instead she chose, what they had on sale which was low hanging fruit wine. The sign says get a 10% discount if you buy a case of which we did. We got to the register finally after 10 to 15 minutes of waiting because they only had two registers open, and the line went all the way back to the midsection of the bourbon area, I made mention to the individual that was on our register. I would like to take on the 10% discount. In order to get the 10% discount you need to buy six bottles of the same wine I said we did we purchased the same brand six bottles, he then stated no, you needed to buy either six bottles of the Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio or the Sauvignon Blanc. I said it's the same brand, his next reaction was well. Did you read the fine print in the bottom of the advertisement? If not, you don't get a 10% discount. Mainly because they literally have EVERYTHING. For CHEAP. In a day in age where people will do unspeakable things for a good deal, you don't have to worry about prices here. The lowest prices on your drink of choice. Guaranteed. I walked out with two six packs of California brews that I've never seen in any other retail store in Florida. The selection is fantastic - an entire aisle of nothing but scotch and another aisle of nothing but bourbons and other whiskeys. Plenty of wine, rum, vodka, and other liquors, too. I visit this store on a regular basis and I've had many memorable experiences there, especially with Stewart and Lisa in the Bordeaux section. They are both very knowledgeable, patient good listeners who wouldn't recommend any wine unless they've personally experienced it. In the past I ordered this wine on line but the shipping is another 2-3 bottles of wine when bought in person. Made sure to get 6 bottles and upon our return will get more. The price is a little more than done on line stores but what is saved in taxes is lost on shipping so it's 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other. The store is huge and had great customer service to assist. I use this wine in my sangria to flavor the fruits and it's awesome. The juices that I add will determine the dominant flavors be it passion fruit, sorrel, pineapple, oranges, etc. They all blend well with this wine. I have been a loyal Total Wine shopper since it opened at this location. That ended today. With the ice chest right by the cash registers, I thought it would be an easy place to swing by. Wrong. I hate to say it, but it may be time for Total Wine to put some of its older retiree personnel out to pasture. My interaction with cashier Donna was horrific today. She was dismissive, rude and conniving. I was waiting in line with my credit card to have the ice rung up and I was going to grab it on the way out the door. I stood there and stood there. I was next in line when Donna opened up her register. Instead of taking me, she tried waving down a man who didn't even appear to be ready for cash out. I stepped over and said "I just need to get some ice, can you ring me up?" She scoffed; annoyed like I was inconveniencing her. My total came up and I asked her why it wasn't prompting me to put my phone number in for the loyalty program. She said "you seemed in such a rush, I didn't think you'd want to do that." So you took it upon yourself to bypass it Donna? Conniving. And I wasn't in a rush. It's simple line protocol to take the next person in line when you open up a new register. That is how literally every store I've ever been to does it. You don't go hunt down random people and try to lasso them to your check out when other customers have been standing in line with no help. I said "great customer service here" and she smirked; satisfied she had ruined my day. I'm done with this place. I'm there once a week for large shopping trips or odds and ends. Guess I'm driving to ABC where it's smaller and they have some qualified help. And now I see that Donna is responsible for a one star review 10 months ago! So Total Wine management has had 10 months to address her attitude and behavior and hasn't. What a shame. Most people DON'T write reviews, so I can't imagine how many customers she has turned off in that time span. read more

I was looking for ginger beer to make special cocktails - though I was miles away from this place I was told that they would have everything I needed, and they did! I was really blown away by the specialty beer aisle as it was broken down by region ("German Ale" section was extensive). Each beer had a tag which described the flavors, ingredients, process, and alcohol content. They also had special end caps devoted to Cinco de Mayo - these included Mexican beer, tequila, and all ingredients for margarita making, as well as party staples like chips and salsa. It isn't that you have to spend a ton of money to get a little cash reward but rather they wipe out all your points at the end of each year so all of us who are snowbirds for many a month, and many purchases, really never ever get to use the rewards.
