We played phone tag with each other for more than a month to try to negotiate and quote what needed to be done. This was after my husband talked to the crew while they were working at a neighbor's. We advanced and had a plan. The last word we received in voicemail was that it would be about 2 weeks, as we were on a waiting list, and they would let us know when we were getting closer. Over a month later, while I was on a work call from home, I get a voicemail that they'll be there shortly. This was with no prior notice. I still hadn't heard the voicemail at the time when less than 15 minutes later, trucks and crew show up and start unloading equipment - right at naptime for my two littles. When I go out to let them know that we had no notice, that it was not a good time and my husband wasn't home, John was rude and argumentative. He said that he knew exactly what needed to be done and that most clients aren't home when they do their work. I let him know that is not how we would do business and we would find someone else to help us. They all left in a huff and sped out of our neighborhood. Oh, and I should note they showed up smoking on a windy and higher fire danger day - after John had said in voicemail that the two week (one month) wait was due in part to weather, as they couldn't work with high winds. I had King Tree Service remove a huge dead Cottonwood tree and I could not be happier with their work. The crew - Bryce, Warren & Darrien - arrived on time, went over the basic process, worked around my inconveniently laid out backyard without complaint and left the area cleaner than they found it. The dead branches were hanging over the fence into my neighbors yard and he said they did a great job cleaning up on his side of the fence as well. The tree had grown completely against the fence and a few of the slats broke during the process. Those were replaced before they even finished the clean up. I'm not sure the damage could have been avoided considering the tree and the fence were basically married. I also wanted the stump cut to 10 feet, plus some specific branches saved and put aside. They did exactly what asked and didn't roll their eyes (at least not out loud ) Thank you for doing a great job and making the entire experience easy for me!

Our front yard is very small and we have an even smaller patch of turf that we wanted some help mowing/fertilizing. I was satisfied with their pricing structure but for the fact that they wanted to charge an insanely high hourly rate for hand pulling weeds. I called to talk to them about this and to point out that there weren't many weeds that were grown but a lot of fledgling weeds which was the whole reason we needed the help (we handpick / dig up more mature weeds all the time). We reached an agreement we were comfortable with and then when they sent us an upgraded bid, they still had a crazy high amount baked into the bid for handpicking weeds. I called to ask if they could get an eyes on the property before we approved that high amount (as I was comfortable with them spraying instead of handpicking) and they said they didn't have time to send anyone out and that the height of the weed will determine whether they spray or handpick, then they told me we could handpick the weeds that were taller ourselves if we wanted to, which was pretty upsetting. I felt very nickle and dimed by these folks given that our yard is not very big and the cost including the handpicking was the highest bid we received by far. We wanted to work with them but they were so concerned about a team of landscapers having to pick maybe 5-6 weeds, they set a very high price. I even sent them a picture of the yard and they even agreed there arent many weeds but still insisted on the high handpicking charge. Very disappointed.

I'm not sure what the glitch was there but that put our job off for several more weeks, which was unfortunate but everything else went great once we got them out here.

I was told it needed aeration, and fertilizer. I requested weekly mowing/trimming, and I also had a broken sprinkler head that needed to be replaced. He said he thought he could come out on Tuesday or Wednesday which was greatly appreciated with a broken sprinkler head requiring my system to be off a couple more days. I quickly got an estimate for the work and asked for it to be detailed so I would know what i was paying for. His app didn't allow that so I don't know. Come Monday or Tuesday, I am told he can come Friday. Ok, I can wait a few more days. Tuesday night I contacted them because I had read aeration might be bad in the summer heat. I was told I would get a call ... No call Friday morning I got an invoice (with the same quote as before) for the work and he hadn't even come out to my house yet. Friday, he texts to confirm the plan and came around 10:30. I couldn't be there but all the work was outside so I didn't worry about it. I came home to a scalped lawn. We are in a drought with water restrictions. I keep the grass a little longer to keep moisture in the ground. I don't see evidence if aeration. The sprinkler head doesn't match the others. It was raining so I couldn't test it right away. I texted and asked why it was so short. I was told that was standard height. I asked about aeration and they said it didn't need it. I was told that was part of the original quote. After multiple texts from him, he sent me a new quote, dropping 50$. He was clearly mad but I'm trying not to pay for something that didn't happen. I also said I would check the sprinkler the next day (today). I came out to a sprinkler head shooting water across the sidewalk into my plants. Clearly doesn't match the adjacent sprinklers. Water running down my sidewalk. So I texted a picture and said I wasn't doing to pay for a wrong sprinkler head. He came back angry and telling me I needed to treat veterans better and "he knew was going to do this". I'm not sure why he is upset. I have to hire someone else to fix it now (or do it myself). He didn't offer to fix it either. An apology and an offer to fix it goes a long way. But no. I was threatened with "treating veterans poorly". There is no correlation. I am praying for a job. I asked for it to be done correctly. I was never mean. I love our veterans. I was happy to give him a chance, bit this has not been worth it. Meeting with a new company today.
