A delicious home cooked meal with large salad selection and chocolate cake.

This is the 2nd time I have been here for a 2 day winter tennis stay . I really liked the first time as 5 to 6 hours of structured play was worked in for each of the 2 days . I had improved since the last time I was here and they placed me with a group that was not challenging . This was changed for one session and I really played had for that session. Then they switched me back . This was disappointing because it made me go backwards in my tennis ability . I won't be returning . We also only really played 4 hours each day as there's a lot of standing around. As usual the food here is very good. Very nice assortment of salad and vegetables . The rooms are basic but that's all you need . I won't be returning - it takes too much trouble and expense to get 2 days of mediocre play time .

TT reminded me of the movie dirty dancing. suburban feel with a bunch of beautiful people "nobody puts baby in the corner (of the tennis court) when you leave you will feel like Jennifer grey in the last scene (time of my life) minus patrick swayze and start counting the days until you go back .... ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT !!!!!!!!!!!! Wonderful staff and instructors even the staying guest are super friendly. TT really put a lot of thoughts into each meal. Lots of varieties and delicious vegetable healthy options. There's an open salad bar and unlimited beverage station. There are so many advanced players who are really humble. And don't worry, you're grouped based on your level of skills. There are beginners who's never held a racquet. Ed the tennis director is a lovely witty man. He came around during dinner and personally checked on all the guests. Bartender Mark is also very helpful. There's a beautiful lounge area for wine and cheese. If you're looking for a place to play tennis and meet some really amazing people minus the drama this is the place for you! Also there are raffle tickets available to supporting children's education in Kenya it's 5 for $20 the winner gets $400 voucher for the next stay. The funds have helped raise doctors, lawyers don't quote me on the $400 i cant remember if we raised $400 or ..just know its for a great cause! I read a review posted on trip advisor calling this place for poor nyc residents who cannot afford nyc price. I'd love to know where in nyc can you find 10 acres of land with beautiful scenery and well maintained clay courts and variety of different courts (only clay court i know is midtown tennis club $195/hr: lodge/food/swimming pool/hot tub/foosball/table tennis/game room not included) and central park (regular courts) but good luck getting people to talk to you let alone play a game with you. TT provides a comfortable relax atmosphere for anyone who wants to get AWAY from the city and toxics to play some tennis, or simply just eat something delicious and hang out. ps They also provide on site same day service for racquet strings!

    The lodge. Rustic, but good!

I've been coming here for 8 years now, at least once a year. It is a unique place around these parts - a year-round adult tennis camp. And really, if you're a tennis player - Total Tennis gives you everything you'd want for a fantastic weekend. We come up here as a group of 8-12 guys, and they accommodate us and our shenanigans completely! What's great: 9-10 hours on-court, guaranteed, with a pro. (9 in winter, 10 in summer). Clay courts in summer. The food is rock solid and plentiful. The lodge is cozy and conducive to a convivial atmosphere (do I get extra points for the SAT words?) The staff is helpful and friendly. On-site massage. Most of the pros are terrific (special shout outs to Ty, Bubla and Guillermo). Accommodation of player level. We range as a group, anywhere from USTA 4.5 to 3.0 level - and yet they manage to keep us all happy. The value for dollar spent. What's OK: So look, this is not (as others have noted) a high-sheen, luxury resort. The rooms are basic, but comfortable enough. They have some nicer rooms available if you're willing to pay a little extra, but honestly all you need here is a reasonable bed and shower. Take a moment to check your wallet and realize how much you are getting in exchange for what's being spent for a weekend of Total Tennis! What's not great: Nothing, really. OK, so maybe I could live without Ed's Saturday night dinner spiels - but even those have their own charm!

I stayed in the main lodge and the room was large enough, very clean, with good A/C and wireless service.

For more than one hundred years, Tranquillity has been a special place full of compassion, family traditions, and endless but flexible activities. This camp wasn't just a place I spent my summers--it became my second home, filled with people who are now my lifelong friends and chosen family. From the first year I went, I felt something special. The intentional simplicity of life at camp--no screens, no stress, just nature, fun, and connection--taught me the value of presence, friendship, and joy. I met my now-fiancé (soon to be husband!) here when we were just 10 years old. Our story started in the barn, sports center and many camp activities/ campfires, and we can't wait to one day send our own children to experience the same magic. Camp gave me memories I'll cherish forever. It's more than a camp--it's a place where people grow up, grow close, and grow into themselves. If you're looking for a place that will shape your child's life in the best possible way, this is it. I'm endlessly grateful for every summer spent here

My daughter attends camp here as well, and I was thrilled she loves it here as much as I did when I was her age. The owners know everyone by name, all the staff are incredibly friendly and the overall environment is caring and adaptive. They consider each individual campers needs and work to accommodate everyone. They have many campers with gluten sensitivity and a separate food station for gluten-free food so as not to cross contaminate foods. The infirmary is staffed by experienced nurses and they always have a doctor on campus (in addition to the owners being doctors themselves). Color War is a time honored tradition that brings a camp together at the end of the summer. Win or lose, Apache relay is a fun tradition in which every single camper partakes in an important role. There is an ice cream parlor, a movie theater, a playhouse, an outdoor adventure zip line course in addition to an inflatable water park on the lake. The kids stay in touch year round and I still talk to people I met as a camper to this day.

I was a camp counselor for Camp Pontiac for the summer of 2021 and when I say this was one of the…read moreworst run businesses I have ever seen and the worst job I have ever had, I am in no way exaggerating. To begin with, the hours they have their general staff work is outrageous. There is no break, you never really get off time here. The staff lounge is a glorified hut with moldy couches and a TV that is can barely fit 1/5 of the staff at a time. The other places on the campus were not open to staff even though the management made it seem that way in the interviewing process. Which is only the first thing that they lied to their staff about. I was lied to about the parameters of my job, I was lied to about my hours, I was lied to about what I would be able to do with my off time. I felt like a prisoner in this camp, I wasn't allowed to leave once I got there, or else I would have been fired. The management DOES NOT care about their general staff, if you get sick, they will not give you adequate rest time to recover. Over 2/3's of the staff was sick throughout the summer. And then there was the covid outbreak. The covid outbreak that the management tried to blame on their general staff as if they weren't allowed families to come in to tour when it was a "bubble" as they marketed to their current parents. Of course, they would never point the finger at the management who frequently went out to eat for every meal at the local restaurants like the Pond or allowed their campers to leave to go boating on another lake. It was a poorly run business that had no care for its general staff. There were promises of things getting better throughout the summer in which they never did and the bonuses that were promised because the staff was doing double the work, were never delivered. The 'Wannabe Director' Micahel Etra has horrible anger issues that made him go off on counselors causing many to quit. His carelessness and ego lead me and many others to be stranded at the airport due to missed flights because he would not allow us to leave earlier to catch our flights even though we brought it to his attention. The group leaders did not care about their counselors, my went as far as to tell me to quit when I talked to her about being unhappy with the exhausting workload, even after I explained to her that paying $800 for a plane ticket home was not an option for me in my financial situation. And then of course there is the favoritism. If you were a camper here and you chose to come back to work, this is a dream job. You are given special treatment and access to the entire camp. You get away with taking 10 or 20 minutes here to there. You get away with taking time off to go and work on things for school. I was refused the wifi passwords to the buildings I worked at, the only places I had access to service to call my parents, but a former camper had them. Ultimately if you're a new counselor, the directors and owners do not care about you. This camp preys on young college students looking for interesting jobs and then locks them on the campgrounds and exploits them for seven weeks, throwing them away once they got their use out of them. I felt like the help most days, slaving over a bunch of spoiled rich kids. Counselors got fired for just disciplining the kids. Counselors got fired for trying to ask for adequate pay. Genuinely, this was an awful experience. For anyone looking to work here, if you have no sense of self-respect, you'll be fine. But understand the long hours and poor treatment that you are going to have to deal with. If you are looking to send your child here, the directors and upper-level staff do not care about your child. Your child is money to them and nothing else. They use the "interesting" specialties such as sports and arts & crafts to babysit your kid, very few of the kids enjoyed the everyday activities. The evening activities were more contrived ways of babysitting the kids so they couldn't be left alone to realize that camp life is nothing but a lie to get money out of the parents. Save your money and send them somewhere else, trust me, this camp is going to go under soon.
