I hate to say it but these German cashiers really are not so friendly to Americans and I don't think they should work in a place where they're going to disrespect customers and insult our intelligence. Yesterday, my husband put gas at the ESSO gas station right off of ROB. The pin my husband entered was not being accepted which resulted in his card being locked. I advised him to call the number on the back of the card and he spoke to an awesome customer service representative: Ralph; who told him to come by this ESSO gas station to see what was the issue. When we got to this shoppette, we asked to speak to someone and these 2 German Female cashiers started giving my husband a very hard time (telling him to call the number which he did, then they tried to say they couldn't help us but then when some reiterated what we said, they basically tried to act like they were not wrong and said they could assist, which is what we had been telling them from the beginning.) Anyway, a sweet American cashier female looked into the system and saw that there was no pin registered to his card so they refunded my husband the amount he shouldn't have paid. Only reason why they don't get 5 stars is because the American cashier told us there have been many complaints about those two German females and I honestly feel this issue needs to be fixed. This is a Military establishment and everyone should be treated with kindness. If they don't want to serve us, they shouldn't work there, period. Other than that, Ralph is a great ESSO rep and so was Gabby!

The terrible cashier had me sign my card, swiped it, then charged me the entire EURO price when I'm entitled the US price. Talk about RUDE Germans and terrible customer service! The other great service they provide is registration for the ESSO card. The ESSO card is a MUST have if you're American and want to pay for gas at US prices rather than German prices. You wouldn't BELIEVE the RIDICULOUS amount of gas they pay per liter PLUS the crazy 19% tax they're charged. The only reason why I'm giving them four stars rather than five is because they only have two registers dedicated to issuing cards. This can be an issue if there's a TON of customer's but hey, it's better to have some than none, right? The customer service is good, most cashiers are knowledgeable and friendly. I do have to say though, there is one female, older woman who made our visit not so pleasant. First she made a big ordeal about a man's transaction taking longer than expected, then she took money from the other cashier causing another long wait and messing us the register not allowing us to purchase what we needed. She made this visit very long and unnecessary. I fee that maybe they should train her more or just get her off the register, she's the cause for this review not being perfect!

This tiny gas station in no where Germany has amazing pretzels! The pizza like pretzel was cheese,…read moreham, and a light baked on spiced tomato sauce. The cheese pretzel was great. Now, the butter pretzel, this thing was down right amazing! We thought we'd ordered a plain pretzel, so the first bite was a little surprising - in a very good way! The pretzel was sliced perfectly in half with butter and chives smeared in between and sandwiched back together. The gas is a fair price too! Update: they have a decent candy bar selection which includes Reese's peanut butter cups (in case you're home sick), Milka (a German milk chocolate bar), and LION (sort of like a Kit Kat).

First you have to get to a pump, pump your gas, then grab a ticket indicating which pump you are at and then pay for gas. There currently isn't pay at the pump. So be ready to do some waiting. In terms, of snacks, this location has a lot of them and it's needed because during lunch this place gets pretty busy for people avoiding the food court. Things do get sold out and so there are times where you have to wait for that Hunt's Bros pizza or for a restock. And the lines get pretty long. The staff at the check out lines are really friendly and knowledgeable. Some are bilingual. Overall, this is one of the better AAFES gas stations that I've been to.
