I rarely come on Yelp to bitch but when I do, it means I have had enough to go on to feel confident in putting them on blast.
This practice is an absolute disaster. In. so. many. ways.
I broke my finger back in May/June timeframe. I was able to make my appointment for the same day, and ended up waiting ALL day at this practice because another one of their doctors called out sick and there was 1 doctor to see 100 + patients. It was a cluster, to say the least.
I felt like I was waiting on deaths door in the lobby - the cast of characters waiting to see the doctor felt like an ambulance chasing crew indeed. You know the kind that make their money off of slip and falls, accidents, and personal injury cases. I am a germaphobe and man did I feel all kinds of anxiety. The staff was not friendly, rude, and overall left a very bad taste in my mouth.
After waiting in the lobby for the first hour or 3, I was moved to a hall way where I continued to wait another who knows how long.
The x-ray personnel was great, friendly, talkative, in all a fairly good bed side manner. That was the only plus to the entire experience other than walking out the door to my car. Of course, the X-rays were followed up with waiting some more again in that hallway that I could only akin to what I would expect the NHS in England to look like. Dead bodies throughout the hallways. I'm being dramatic but these are the dark thoughts that took over my mind during that ridiculously long wait.
The final countdown to see the doctor was here and I was placed in a room where i continued to wait to see the all mighty. The doctor was nice. We could have wrapped things up 10 minutes at least before we did but I was stuck there listening to him do his patient dictation which then resulted in them charging the visit as an 'extended visit' - Of course it was - I mean I only broke my forefinger, had no questions, and HE extended it but go ahead and charge the insurance as if I had been there for over 1/2 hour. SLIM SHADY business.
I went back a couple of weeks later after having my finger slinged up and all that was said was you need physical therapy. Another long wait, though less than the last time, and another visit deemed 'extended.' Brills.
I chose not to go to the physical therapist right away as I didn't see the point. It was my forefinger after all and it just seemed ridiculous and that I was being a big baby about it all.
Then I got my bill. Oh look, a line item 'error' as they were trying to charge me for my copay again. I wonder how many people don't read their bills and just pay it. I'm sure given the cast of characters I've seen as patients, that happens more times than not. I said I won't be coming back as I see them as a money making machine and I simply don't have the time, patience, money or will to do another round of that.
Fast forward to today, I decided last week to go ahead and see a physical therapist because, all joking aside, my finger did not seem to have the agility that I expected by now and I was concerned that I wasn't really taking care of it properly. At this point, my script for the therapy expired and when I called the practice to have them fax over an updated one, the woman grilled me on why I won't be a returning patient. Really? This is your idea of customer service? making your patients feel uncomfortable with your line of questioning and accusations? And guess what, they never sent the script to the therapist. So, my PE office called them today and was on with their staff for quite a very long time wasting both of their time being extremely rude. You are rude to other practitioners too? So it's not just the patients then. Interesting. She was informed that it was 'their protocol' to have me come back in to receive an updated script since it has expired.
You mean to tell me you need me to go through all of those hoops for a broken forefinger to get physical therapy? You know I'm not asking for pain killers right? You realize that I am not trying to cheat the system right? I'm simply trying to care for my finger as prescribed earlier in the summer and now you want me to lose more work time to come back, have you charge my insurance another 'extended visit' just so that I can get a piece of 4 x 4 paper that says to give me therapy for 8 visits.
No thanks. And no one else should consider doing it either. read more
