I tried to get into Holy Cross Orthopedics, but they only had to spinal specialists and no matter my pain and agony, they couldn't see me for over a month. So, I left the hospital with nothing but a bunch of rather ineffective pain pills. About a year before, my partner had a spinal problem and had sought medical help from Florida Spine Associates. He was thrilled with them. So, I checked them out on Yelp and Goggle and was delighted with the outstanding credentials of their doctors. I gave Kamerlink Pain Institute a phone call and was able to make an appointment with Dr. Kamerlink within a week, as he honestly cared that I was in great pain. He told me it was what he did everyday, I would be out of pain and back to working as a dental assistant within a few months. Long story short, I was in more pain after the fusion at L5/S1. Post-Op pain was more than I ever experienced. This was with taking 2 - 10/375 mg Oxycodone, every 4 hrs, and time release Oxycotin every 12 hours. Less than a week after surgery, I felt a POP in my leg, I couldn't walk, there was a huge hard lump on the side of my hip, and the sharp, burning pain had me screaming! Dr. S. told me that my IT BAND POPPED, and he expected that to happen. I requested my records... I was told, what records? FF 3 years, after the screws placed had all broken, and my Coxic bone was vertically cracked. I went to Spine Instatute at Emory University and had an appointment scheduled at Stanford Univ. After looking at Pr-Op MRI, the surgeon at Empory told me the HE would never had done surgery on me from the beginning, nor did he feel comfortable fixing this mess. I finally found a well known Surgeon at Miami University. He operated from the back to clean up and replace the hardware. Then went through my abdomen, taking out my guts, to fuse from the front of the spine. Yes, the hardware was fixed, but the nerve damage was done and the pain has never gone away. My Neurologist took over my monthly pain management, still today in 2026.

I've been in pain every day for over a year now - since the day of my T3 - pelvis spinal fusion in July 2014. The hardware malfunctioned sometime this winter, & I've been in increasingly worse pain ever since. I'm going back to my original surgeon in NY in 3 weeks for a revision surgery. Dr. Rosenblatt understood my situation, and after a thorough evaluation - including medical history, along with current & past prescriptions - she prescribed a combination of meds that she felt would be the most helpful for my particular situation. Feeling relieved and confident that it will help me. Great experience. Would highly recommend this doctor! Edit : I spoke a bit too soon. The pain med she gave me wasn't working, so I called after 2 days to inform her. She said to give it a few days, after arguing with her office staff that I already had, then of course subsequently ended up in bed for the next 3 days (it was a holiday weekend) in agony. The first thing I did on Tuesday morning was call the office, since I haven't been sleeping, and of course she's on vacation. They want me to come in for another visit. Are you kidding me? I tried advocating for myself before the long weekend, and it fell of deaf ears. I ran out of the med she gave me early because she told me to increase my dose by 8x. Why am I being punished for following instructions? I feel like an idiot that put my faith in someone too quickly. Now I'm stuck going to the ER yet again. With no insurance. Great.

He provided no major information than a xerox copied brochure for me to read. I booked the procedure and during the procedure Elboaly treated me like a body not like a person. I felt extremely uncomfortable lying there while he chitchatted with the attending nurse. After the procedure he ran away without explaining anything, possibly to another appointment. The procedure was totally useless and cost me time and money and it did not alleviate the pain one bit. A few days after, I called his office to tell the doctor about the lack of results (I spoke with the nurse). He did not care one bit. Not a call to follow up nothing. I cancelled another appointment because I did not see the point to go back to such unprofessional health provider and uncaring environment. Elbualy was pompous, unprofessional and uncaring. Not recommended at all.
