I had a 60 minute Swedish Massage with Elle at Body of Needs Spa yesterday and have finally found my new MT and Spa home!! The experience begins with being welcomed by their delightful receptionist who offered me water and had me fill out their very detailed intake form that asks everything from specific areas of focus, lotion or oil preference, amount of pressure and all the things your MT needs to tailor your massage. Elle came out to get me and brought me in to a very tranquil treatment room. There is a whiteboard on the wall and Elle used it to note where I wanted her to focus, any thing that was important to me for my massage and then she stepped out so that I could undress. As she started the massage, the pressure was a little lighter than I wanted so I told her and she immediately adjusted. She really worked on my problem areas and gave a great full body massage!! I'm a little sore today, but in the best possible way!! I immediately scheduled my next appointment with Elle as soon as I got in the car; a 90 minute this time,. Their online booking makes it so easy to book, reschedule, or cancel your appointment. Needless to say Elle and Body of Needs are my new go to!!

There are several private service rooms. I had a 90 minute deep tissue with Mackenzie. She was excellent at determining where I needed attention and how much pressure. The room was relaxing with the proper lighting and music. The table was heared. Prices were reasonable. I am happily sore and feel much better! I will absolutely be back to see Mackenzie again!!! While the setting isn't anything spectacular, the service and attention to detail certainly make up the difference! Melanie was responsive, and replied to my inquiries very quickly (in less than an hour) each time I contacted her. I was in pain and asked if a massage that day was possible. While it wasn't available, Melanie managed to fit me in the following afternoon, rather than weeks out which is what I've experienced at other local businesses. She also listened closely to my needs and focused more attention on relieving the tension and pain I felt in specific areas while still providing a full body massage. In regard to the the reiki portion of the session, Melanie explained each step of the process and her reasoning for using particular crystals, which was quite informative and useful to know. Although I have had reiki done before, this is the first time that I've received specific visions that the practitioner experienced during the process. His technique of rubbing quickly and repetitively shook my whole body and made me motion sick. After asking him twice to slow down and stop shaking my body, his "habit" persisted. I cut the session short after the first half hour because I was so shook up (literally). I do not recommend this place to anyone with motion sensitivity, anyone with any sort of trauma, or anyone looking to relax.

I myself have never had a male masseuse so I was definitely a little tense coming in. I was also a bit parched so a little grumpy. However, when I contacted the merchant, and referenced the new client one hour massage on his website for $40, he told me I'd owe an additional $20. That makes a massage $65, not $40. His response was "Yes, but I do not even get 1/2 of what the groupon is sold for. The $20 brings the total that I get paid up to the new client special." That's so SHADY. This therapist is the one who chose to go through Groupon. I did not force him to advertise on Groupon. He knew what he would make on each Groupon, and still go ahead with selling the Groupons. You make a choice, you need to live with it, not penalize your potential clients. So now, I will never be a client. And I will tell all of my friends not to be clients. Because no one wants to get ripped off by a greedy person who was happy to use Groupon to get advertising for his business, but not actually happy to follow their rules. Certainly, I don't think I should have to pay $25 extra for my massage over the advertised new client price, simply because the therapist now regrets his advertising choices. So, I contacted Groupon and they gave me my money back. So I've been made whole (thanks only to Groupon), but wanted to be sure to warn all potential customers about this therapist's suspect business practices. If you've already purchased a Groupon, don't even attempt to use it, just contact Groupon to get your money back!!
