So I called Roy's because they were right by where I was dead. I'm glad I did :) I didn't have anything but nice employees through this whole process. They were able to very quickly (dropped it off on a Thursday expected for a Monday/Tuesday appointment...I get a call Friday afternoon with an update! I know that's not the norm, but I'll take it ). Couple hundred miles on so far, no issues outside of the ones that were already there lol. I'll be bringing our fleet to these guys moving forward. Thank you guys for the great experience! As a side note to pricing; it was right in line with what I would imagine anyone else would be. I'm sure it could have been more and could have been less, I wasn't shocked by the amount. :) 2009 Pontiac G6 for reference

My father in law has taken his vehicle to Fred's in Wentzville regularly for quite a while. When I…read morebought it from him, I continued to take it to Wentzville and was always very happy with the svc I received. When I figured out they had a st charles location I was happy because it was closer to home. The car was overheating so I took it to them. The said they ran a pressure test, it was my head gasket(s), and would cost me $6000.00 to fix. I then took it to another mechanic who ran a pressure test that clearly showed it was just a water pump and it cost me under $500. So they either never ran a pressure test, and just made something up, or they have no idea what they are doing! Either way, I will NEVER give them another dime of my money.

My car broke down on the road, seemingly due to the alternator. Before I got my car towed there, I…read morecalled and asked how much it would be to replace the alternator. A guy named Dave looked up the price based on the make, model, and engine type and said it was coming up as $713 including labor which could change but would be somewhere around that price. I asked which towing coming they recommended and had it towed there. After it got there they did a diagnostic and said that it would be about $1500 including the tow; they had to replace the battery for the diagnostic and the alternator would be a bit more than $1000. I asked why the alternator was so much since I had talked to Dave earlier and he said it would be around $713. The guy on the phone said Dave prolly didn't realize that it was a car with a computer system--but that was a lie since Dave looked it up based on the make, model, and engine type. He then put me on hold and came back and said "the boss" says that Dave told me it would be between $700 and $1600 which was also a blatant lie. In the end they ended up replacing the alternator for a somewhat high but fairly reasonable price but the ease with which they lied about it all was infuriating and they do not seem trustworthy whatsoever

SCAMMERS. SCAMMERS. SCAMMERS. SCAMMERS This is another disreputable shop operated by typical…read moreblue-collar workers lacking education and integrity. Their prices are excessively high, and they attempted to impose unnecessary charges. They tried to bill me $300 for an oil change after they went to the back to 'fix' it. Additionally, they charged me for 7 quarts of oil when my vehicle only requires 4.2, and they added a $20 fee simply because they felt entitled to do so and another charge for "some sort" of additive that I didn't ask for they probably even didn't do the additive. They claimed it was for shop supplies, yet there was another charge for the actual supplies. I suppose they are billing me for the towels used to clean their dirty hands. Those who leave positive reviews are likely unaware of the scam and simply comply with it; they even impose a 3% fee for card payments as if it's 1999. These are the kind of people who WILL intentionally damage your vehicle just to ensure you return. I had to make two calls to check if my car was ready, as no one in the shop seemed to know its status. It could have remained there overnight if I hadn't called at the last moment. These people are criminals.
